THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.
a vertical line one above the other not less than 6ft. apart,
the lowest lights being 20ft. above the level of the sea.
The highest and lowest of these lights shall be white and the
middle lights shall be red.
Caution: Mariners and others, when navigating the South
Channel in the vicinity of the dredge, are warned to use the
channel passage northward of the dredge, and to proceed
quite slow when passing.

QUEENSLAND. - MORETON BAY. SHOALING OF WATER ON
HIXON'S BANK.
NOTICE is hereby given that there is now less water on the
western edge of Hixon's Bank than is shown on the
Admiralty chart.
Northward of the line of the Yellow Patch and the light-
house at Cape Moreton the depth at low water does not
exceed 10ft.
Northward of the line of the first white sand patch to the
southward of the Yellow Patch and the lighthouse the
depth does not exceed two fathoms.

QUEENSLAND.--ALTERATION IN WIDE BAY BAR.
NOTICE is hereby given that the main channel over Wide
Bay Bar has again shifted further to the northward.
On entering the square leading beacons are now to be kept
open two widths to the northward until the Inskip Point
beacons are open two widths to the westward. A vessel
should then haul up and keep the latter beacons in this
position until the spit on the eastern side of the channel is
passed, when they should at once be brought into line again
to avoid a small spit running out from the west side of the
channel. The usual course may then be followed.
In bad weather great caution must be taken in using this
channel, and at present it should not be used at night.
There is a depth of 11ft. at low-water springs in the south
channel.

QUEENSLAND.-WIDE BAY BAR. ALTERATION IN LEADING
BEACONS AND LIGHTS.
NOTICE is hereby given that, the position of the square
leading beacons for crossing Wide Bay Bar having been
shifted, they are now to be used in line.
The leading lights for crossing the bar will no longer be
exhibited, but will shortly be used in the South Channel.

TONGA.-EGERIA CHANNEL, TONGATABU.
IT is hereby notified for general information that four conical
iron buoys, two painted red and two white, have been placed
in the above channel on the following bearings :-
From N.W. Red Buoy: North extreme of Atata Island,
S. 56°, 30' W.; east extreme of Atata Island, S. 14°, 30' W.;
west extreme of Fafa Island, S. 68° E.
From S.E. Red Buoy: North extreme of Atata Island,
S. 69°, 30' W.; south extreme of Atata Island, S. 30°; west
extreme of Fafa Island, S. 67°, 30′ E.
From White Buoy North of Atata: West and north ex-
tremes of Atata Island, S. 6°; east extreme of Atata Island,
S. 53°; south extreme of Cocoanut on Malinoa Island,
N. 79°, 30′ Ε.
From White Buoy S.E. of Atata Island (Campbell Rock):
North extreme of Tufaka Island, S. 60° W.; north extreme of
Atata Island, N. 55° W.; south extreme of Poloa Island, S. 2º,
30' W.
All bearings are magnetic. Variation in 1889, 10° E.
Vessels approaching Nukualofa through this passage
should keep the red buoys to port and the white to star-
board, and after clearing Campbell Rock may steer for

Government Wharf or Anchorage, care being taken to keep
clear of the coral patch off the King's Palace.

TONGA.-ENTRANCE TO NEIAFU HARBOUR, VAVAU, TONGA
ISLANDS.
IT is hereby notified for general information that four
leading beacons, 18ft. high and 8ft. in diameter at the base,
and painted white, have been erected at Vavau, two on
Kilikili Point, and two on Talaufaga entrance to Neiafu
Harbour, and leading over the deepest water (7 fathoms)
on sandspit.
Vessels approaching Neiafu should keep the two beacons
on Kilikili in line on bearing N.E. by E. ½ E. until the
beacons on Talaufaga bear in line W. by N, and then
keeping them in line over stern vessel may stand up for
wharf or anchorage.

Revocation of Appointment of Bonding Warehouses.
CUSTOMS. In exercise of the authority in me for this
purpose vested, I, the Commissioner of Trade and
Customs, do, by this order under my hand, revoke and annul
the appointment of the under-mentioned warehouses for the
reception and security of goods entered to be warehoused
without payment of duty upon the first entry thereof,
namely,—
Port of Wellington.
The warehouses known as
HARCOURT'S BOND,
as appointed and described in Commissioner's Order No. 206,
of the 26th July, 1884;
KITCHEN AND SONS' PERFUMERY BOND,
as appointed and described in Commissioner's Order No. 287,
of the 9th December, 1887;
ZOHRAB'S BOND,
as appointed and described in Commissioner's Order No. 295,
of the 8th February, 1888;
CREASE'S PERFUMERY BOND,
as appointed and described in Commissioner's Order No. 296,
of the 19th March, 1888.
