Shooting Season for Imported Game, License Fee, &c.,
Lake District.

ONSLOW, Governor.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by "The Animals
Protection Act, 1880
," and the Acts amending the same,
I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify that Californian
quail may be taken or killed within the Lake District, con-
sisting of the County of Lake, from the first day of June, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-nine, to the thirty-first
day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-nine,
both inclusive (subject nevertheless to the restrictions in the
said Acts mentioned). And I do further notify that licenses
to take or kill such game within the said district shall be
issued on payment of the sum of ten shillings each, and
that licenses to sell such game shall be issued on payment
of the sum of five pounds each; and the Postmaster at
Queenstown is hereby appointed to sign and issue the said
licenses.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this eleventh day of May, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-nine.

terbury, Otago, Southland, and Westland.

ONSLOW, Governor.

WHEREAS by the two hundred and twenty-seventh
section of "The Land Act, 1885," it is enacted that
the Governor may from time to time, either by general or
particular description, and whether the same has been sur-
veyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding
that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any
Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of
the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and
pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the
said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land
in the Land Districts of Auckland, Taranaki, Hawke's Bay,
Wellington, Nelson, Canterbury, Otago, Southland, and
Westland, described in the Schedule hereunder written, for
the purposes in the said Schedule specified.

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND.

ALL that parcel of land in the Land District of Auckland,
being Section No. 22, Block X., Hukerenui Survey Dis-
trict, containing by admeasurement 10 acres, more or less.
Bounded towards the north-east by a public road, 511, 514,
and 48 links; towards the east by Section No. 23, Block X.
aforesaid, 909 links; towards the south by a line, 805 links;
and towards the east by Section No. 9, Block X. aforesaid,
1534 links, to the point of commencement: be all the afore-
said linkages more or less. For a site for a cemetery.

All that parcel of land in the Land District of Auckland,
being Lot No. 226, Parish of Te Puna, containing by
admeasurement 8 acres 2 roods, more or less. Bounded
towards the north-east by Lot No. 216, Parish of Te Puna,
1273 links; towards the south-east by a road, 1445 links;
and towards the west by a road, 569, 432, and 441 links: be
all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is
delineated on the plan, No. 5222 (in blue), deposited in the
Survey Office, Auckland. For a school site.

All that parcel of land in the Land District of Auckland,
containing by admeasurement 7 acres 2 roods, more or less,
being Section No. 192A, Parish of Ngaroto, commencing at
the south-western corner of Section No. 192. Bounded
towards the north by Section No. 192 aforesaid, 750 links;
towards the east and south-east by a road, 53, 231, and 1214
links; towards the south-west by a road, 322 links; and
towards the west by a road, 1171 links to the commencing-
point: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For a site
for a cemetery.

All that parcel of land in the Land District of Auckland,
containing by admeasurement 5 acres and 5 perches, more
or less, being Section No. 192, Parish of Ngaroto. Bounded
towards the east by a road, 534, 482, and 294 links; towards
the south by Section No. 192A, 750 links; and towards the
west and north-west by a road, 720 and 633 links to the
commencing-point: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.
For a school site.

TARANAKI.

All that parcel of land in the Land District of Taranaki,
containing by admeasurement 340 acres, more or less, being
in Blocks X. and XI., Opunake Survey District, Blocks
IX., X., XI., and XII., Kaupokonui Survey District, and
Block IX., Ngaire Survey District. Bounded on the north
by Sections Nos. 26, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, and 39, Block X.,
and Sections Nos. 78, 81, 83, and 96, Block XI., Opunake
Survey District, Sections Nos. 22, 30, 31, Block IX., Sections
Nos. 76, 77, 94, 95, Block X., Sections Nos. 101, 102, 116,
120, Block XI., and Sections Nos. 34, 38, 41, 45, Block XII.,
Kaupokonui Survey District, and Sections Nos. 27, 31, 35,
38, and 41, Block IX., Ngaire Survey District, 171300 links;
on the east by the Waingongoro Stream, 200 links; on the
south by Block XIII., Ngaire Survey District, Blocks XVI.,
XV., XIV., and XIII., Kaupokonui Survey District, and
Blocks XIV., XIII., and XII., Opunake Survey District,
171300 links; and on the west by the Waiaua Stream,
200 links: excepting the following roads of 1 chain in width
where they intersect the same: Eltham, Waiteika, Watino,
Patiki, Oeo, Auroa, Mangawhero, Rowan, Manaia, Palmer,
Duthie, Hastings, Hunter, and Stuart Roads: be all the
aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated
on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor,
New Plymouth. For a railway reserve.

HAWKE'S BAY.

All that parcel of land in the Land District of Hawke's
Bay, containing by admeasurement 277 acres 1 rood, more or
less, being Section No. 3, Block III., Makaretu Survey Dis-
trict. Bounded on the north and east by public road-lines,
13880 links; on the south by the south branch of the Manga-
tewai Stream; and on the west by a forest reserve, 4833
links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the
same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the
Chief Surveyor, Napier. For primary education.

All that parcel of land in the Land District of Hawke's
Bay, containing by admeasurement 91 acres, more or less,
being Section No. 4, Block I., Makaretu Survey District.
Bounded on the north-east by Section No. 3, 3175 links; on
the south-east by Section No. 5, 3798 links; and on the west
by public road-lines, 5932 links: be all the aforesaid linkages
more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan de-
posited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Napier. For
primary education.

WELLINGTON.

All that parcel of land in the Land District of Welling-
ton, containing by admeasurement 1 acre and 12 perches,
more or less, being Section No. 216, Block XII., Mangaone
Survey District. Bounded on the north-west, north-east,
and south-east by public roads; and on the south-west by
Section No. 104; as the same is delineated on the plan
deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Wellington.
For public buildings.

All that parcel of land in the Land District of Wellington,
containing by admeasurement 2 acres 2 roods 28 perches,
more or less, being part of Section No. 491, Township of
Bunnythorpe. Bounded on the north-east by a railway
reserve 1118 and 122 links, and by the Foxton-New Ply-
mouth Railway 203 links; on the south-east by the Foxton--
New Plymouth Railway and a public road, 300 links; on
the south-west by other portion of Section No. 491, 1252
links; and on the north-west by a public road, 200 links:
be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is
delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief
Surveyor, Wellington. For a railway reserve.

All that parcel of land in the Land District of Welling-
ton, containing by admeasurement 13 acres 3 roods 15
perches, more or less, being Section No. 75, Block XIV.,
Tiffin Survey District. Bounded on the north-east by
Kempton's Creek; on the south-east by a line; on the
south-west by a public road; and on the north-west by a
public road; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited
in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Wellington. For recrea-
tion.

All that parcel of land in the Land District of Welling-
ton, containing by admeasurement 4 acres and 11 perches,
more or less, being Section No. 76, Block XIV., Tiffin
Survey District. Bounded on the north-east by a public
road; on the south-east by a line; on the south-west by
a public road; and on the north-west by a public road:
be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is
delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief
Surveyor, Wellington. For river-conservation purposes.

All that parcel of land in the Land District of Wellington,
containing by admeasurement 5 acres 3 roods 18 perches,
more or less, being Suburban Section No. 46, Township of
Levin. Bounded on the north-east by Bath Street; on the
south-east by Section No. 47; on the south-west by Section
No. 49; and on the north-west by a public road; as the
same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the
Chief Surveyor, Wellington. For primary education.

All that parcel of land in the Land District of Wellington,
containing by admeasurement 4 acres 3 roods 30 perches,
more or less, being Suburban Section No. 32, Township of
Levin. Bounded on the north-east by Section No. 30; on
the south-east by a public road; on the south-west by
Makomako Road; and on the north-west by Section No. 31;
as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office
