THE following special order, made by the Bruce County Council, is published in accordance with "The Counties Act, 1886."

SPECIAL ORDER, dissolving Glenledi Road Board, made by the Bruce County Council, on Tuesday, the 8th day of January, 1889.
EXTRACT from minutes: Councillor Smith moved, and Councillor Noble seconded, "That the Council confirm the resolution passed at a meeting of the Council held on the 4th day of December, 1888, viz., 'That the Council, by special order, dissolve the Glenledi District Road Board, and merge the Glenledi Road District into the county, on and after the 1st day of February, 1889.'" -Agreed to.
I certify that the above special order has been duly made as prescribed by section 124 of "The Counties Act, 1886."

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Wanganui County Council, is published in accordance with "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1886."

WANGANUI COUNTY COUNCIL. - LONG ACRE SUBDIVISION No. 2.
RESULT of poll of ratepayers of the above subdivision, taken at the residence of Mr. James McGral, on Saturday, the 22nd day of December, 1888, for the proposal to borrow Β£150 under "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1886:"-
Number of votes recorded: For the proposal, 11 rate- payers, representing 16 votes; against the proposal, nil.
A majority in number of the ratepayers of the above sub- division having recorded their votes in favour of the proposal, and the number so voting being entitled to more than one- half in number of the votes which can be exercised by the whole of the ratepayers, I hereby declare the resolution in favour of the proposal duly carried.
Dated the 2nd day of December, 1888.

THE following special order, made by the Wairarapa North County Council, is published in accordance with "The Counties Act, 1886."

SPECIAL ORDER.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by "The Counties Act, 1886," and "The Road Boards Act, 1882," the Council of the County of Wairarapa North resolves as follows:-
That all that portion of the County of Wairarapa North, being one continuous area, and comprised within the follow- ing boundaries, namely, -bounded generally towards the north by the southern boundary of Section No. 18, Block II., Kopuaranga Survey District, the north-eastern boundary of Section No. 9, Block III., and from thence by a public road to the north-eastern angle of Section No. 98; generally towards the east and south-east by Sections Nos. 99 of Block IV., 108 of Block VII., by a public road to the south-eastern angle of Section No. 118, by Sections Nos. 115, 210, 114, and 113, by a public road, by the southern boundary of Section No. 208, Block VI., by the south-eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 36, 34, 32, 30, 28, and 20, again by the southern boundary of 20, by the abuttal of a public road, by the southern boundary of Section No. 21, by Section No. 9 and part of Section No. 8, Block X., and by Section No. 77, Block IX., to the north-western angle of the last-mentioned section; generally towards the west and north-west by Sections Nos. 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, and 45, Block IX., Sections Nos. 46, 47, 48, 49, and 50, Block V., the north- western boundary of Section No. 51, by Sections Nos. 52 and 100, by Section No. 208, Block II., and Sections Nos. 204, 205, and part of 206, by Sections Nos. 98, 99, 100, and a public road, and by Sections Nos. 102 and 109 to the north-
eastern angle of the last-mentioned section, -shall constitute a new road district, to be called the Rangitumau Road Dis- trict, which shall be represented by a Board of four members, but shall not be subdivided. It is further resolved that the boundaries of the Alfredton, Masterton, and Mauriceville Road Districts be and the same are hereby amended as follows:-
Alfredton Road District (southern boundary amended).---
Bounded towards the south by the Upper Taueru and Rangi- tumau Road Districts.
Masterton Road District (northern boundary amended).---
Bounded towards the north by the Mauriceville, Rangitumau, Upper Taueru, and Whareama Road Districts.
Mauriceville Road District (eastern boundary amended).
Bounded towards the east by the Rangitumau Road District.
Passed at a special meeting of the Council, this 11th day of December, 1888. Confirmed this 8th day of January, 1889.
The common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and inhabitants of the County of Wairarapa North was affixed hereto by WILLIAM BEETHAM, (L.S.) County Chairman, in the presence of F. G. Moore, County Clerk.

Application for Registration of Two Trade Marks.

NOTICE is hereby given that ALFRED DE LISSA, of 313, George Street, Sydney, New South Wales, Solicitor, has applied, on behalf of JONATHAN HARRIS AND SONS, of Cockermouth, England, Manufacturers, to register, under "The Trade Marks Act, 1866," the trade marks numbered 1 and 2, of which the following is a description:--
Description of Trade Mark No. 1
Consists of the word "Harris," the word being printed in Egyptian capitals in black on a buff ground; but claim is made to use the mark in all colours and combination of colours, in all sizes, and in different type.
Description of Trade Mark No. 2
Consists of a purple-coloured square, having at the edge, on either side, a broad and a fine line, old gold in colour. The said square is divided into two broad bands at the top and bottom and a narrow band in the centre by two lines, old gold in colour, running across the square. In the centre portion or band are printed in letters, old gold in colour, the words "Pure flax embroidery Thread," and below are the words and figures "Size E, shade 152." In the lowest portion or band are printed in letters, old gold in colour, the words "Caution: the only genuine thread bears the maker's signature as below," while below these words is the fac- simile signature "J. Harris & Sons," and under the signature the word "Cockermouth," these words being in old gold-coloured letters. The said trade mark is printed and written in the colours above mentioned, but claim is made to all other colours and combination of colours. Claim is also made to vary the words "Pure flax Em- broidery Thread," appearing on the mark, and to substitute the names of other goods to which the mark is applied, such as "Silken Couching Flax," "Silken Etching Flax," "Silken Rope Flax," "Silken Embroidery Thread."
Claim also is made to vary the letter "E," and figures "152," and to substitute other letters and figures indicative of size and shade.
Nature of the Articles to which it is intended such Trade Marks shall apply.
Threads of flax and of hemp for machine, hand-sewing, and for other purposes, linen, and hemp yarn.
