Village-homestead Special-settlement Land in Auckland with
drawn and opened as an Ordinary Village Settlement.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the sixth section of "The Land
Act, 1885," I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby declare
that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the Procla-
mations of the twelfth day of October, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-six, and the fourteenth day of December,
one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, so far as they
relate to the sections mentioned in the Schedule to an Order
in Council of even date herewith, shall be and the same are
hereby revoked; and do proclaim and declare that the said
sections are hereby withdrawn from the village-homestead
special-settlement system: And, in pursuance of the provi-
sions of section one hundred and sixty-six of the said Act, I
do hereby set apart the said sections as a village settlement,
upon the terms and conditions set forth in the said Order in
Council, and made under the one hundred and sixty-seventh
section of the said Act.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William
Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General
in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of
the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael
and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honour-
able Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same; and issued under the Seal of the
said Colony, at the Government House, at Wel-
lington, this twenty-eighth day of December, in
the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and eighty-eight.

Amalgamating Licensing Districts.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by section three of "The Licensing
Act Amendment Act, 1882," I, the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the
Licensing Districts of Thorndon, Lambton, Te Aro, and


Wellington Cook shall be amalgamated under the name of
the Wellington Licensing District, from the first day of
February, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-nine, and
that from the said date the said Licensing Districts of
Thorndon, Lambton, Te Aro, and Wellington Cook shall be
abolished.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William
Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General
in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of the

Lands taken for Palmerston North Waterworks.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto
are required to be taken, under "The Public Works
Act, 1882," and its amendments, for a certain work, to wit,
the construction of waterworks for the supply of pure water
for the use of the inhabitants of the Borough of Palmer-
ston North:

And whereas the Borough Council of Palmerston North
has laid before the Governor the memorial, accompanied by
a map, and also the statutory declaration, required by the
said Act and the amendments thereof:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and
pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by
"The Public Works Act, 1882," and of every other power
and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do
hereby proclaim and declare that the lands mentioned in
the Schedule hereto are hereby taken for the purposes above
mentioned; and, further, that subject hereto the said lands
shall vest in the Corporation of the said borough on and
after the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand
Gazette.
