A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the sixth section of "The Land
Act, 1885," I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby declare
that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the Procla-
mation of the fifth day of February, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-nine, so far as it relates to the section
mentioned in the Schedule hereto, shall be and the same is
hereby revoked; and do proclaim and declare that the said
section is hereby withdrawn from the village-settlement
system.

SCHEDULE.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.

RESERVE No. 1216, Block I., Southbridge District, 20 acres
3 roods 19 perches.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William
Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General
in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable
Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-
Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said
Colony, at the Government House, at Welling
ton, this sixteenth day of March, in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-nine.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this fifteenth
day of March, 1889.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by the fifteenth section of "The Public
Trust Office Act, 1872," it is, amongst other things,
enacted that the Governor may, by Order in Council, place
in the Public Trust Office any property held in trust for the
benefit of private persons or communities by the Crown, and
from and after the date of any such Order in Council the
property to which it relates shall become vested in the
Public Trustee, subject to the trusts attaching thereto and
to the provisions of the said Act for the custody, disposal, or
management thereof: And whereas by "The Auckland and
Onehunga Native Hostelries Act, 1867,"

All that allotment of land being number eleven of
section twenty of the Village of Onehunga, situate in
the Parish of Waitemata, in the County of Eden, con-
taining by admeasurement two acres and nine perches,
more or less, and bounded on the north by a road,
four hundred and fifty links; on the east by part of
the same section, five hundred and eighty-eight links;
on the south by a line, two hundred and thirty-four
links; and on the west by a line, six hundred and
eighty links:

All that allotment of land being number nineteen of
section number nine, situate in the Town of Auck-
land, in the Parish of Waitemata, in the County of
Eden, containing by admeasurement two acres and
fourteen perches, more or less, and bounded on the
north by the Strand, four hundred and thirty links;
on the east by Stanley Street, nine hundred links;
on the south, at an angle of ninety degrees with
Stanley Street, by a portion of the said section num-
ber nine, fifty links; on the south-west by a road and
on the west by a road, one hundred and fifty links, at
an angle of ninety degrees with the Strand:

All that allotment or parcel of land containing by ad-
measurement two roods fifteen perches, more or less,
situate in the Parish of Waitemata, in the County
of Eden, and being lot number four of section num-
ber twelve of the City of Auckland. Bounded on the
north by lot number four A, four hundred and
seventy-two links; on the east by a line, one hundred
and forty-four links; on the south by the Strand, five
hundred and twenty-nine links; and on the west by
lot number three, one hundred and fourteen links,
were thereby vested in Her Majesty the Queen, subject as
therein mentioned, for the purposes of and as an endowment
for Native hostelries: And whereas by two several Orders in
Council respectively made on the twenty-first day of July,
one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five, the Governor in
Council did, or purported to, place in the Public Trust Office
the first two of the three several allotments of land herein-
before described, in manner and for the purposes therein set
forth: And whereas doubts have arisen as to the validity
and effect of the said two Orders in Council, and, for the
purpose of removing the same doubts, it is expedient to
revoke the same respectively: And whereas the last of the
three several allotments of land hereinbefore described has
not been placed in the Public Trust Office by Order in
Council, although the same has been so placed in fact:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of all powers
and authorities enabling him in this behalf under the firstly
hereinbefore in part recited Act, and in pursuance and
exercise of every other power and authority enabling him in
this behalf, and by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby revoke the
said two Orders in Council of the twenty-first day of July,
one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five, and, by and with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council as afore-
said, doth hereby place in the Public Trust Office the three
several allotments of land hereinbefore described, with their
appurtenances, for the purposes of and as an endowment for
Native hostelries, with power to administer and lease the
same or any part or parts thereof respectively, in manner
and with the formalities required in and by "The Native
Reserves Act, 1882," or any Act that may have been or be
hereafter passed in amendment thereof or substitution there-
for; and shall apply all proceeds, profits, and income, after
deduction of all lawful expenses, in and for the before-men-
tioned purposes.

Vesting Reserves in the Rakaia Road Board.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this fifteenth
day of March, 1889.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the lands mentioned in the first column of
the Schedule hereto were reserved for the purposes
named in the second column of the said Schedule: And
whereas by an Order in Council issued on the sixth day of
June, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-nine, the
lands described in the Schedule hereto were, with other
lands, vested in the Chairman, Councillors, and inhabitants
of the County of Selwyn:

And whereas the said reserves are situated within the
boundaries of the Rakaia Road District, and it is expedient
that they should be vested in the Rakaia Road Board:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the
powers and authorities vested in him by the fourth section of
"The Public Reserves Act, 1881," doth hereby revoke the
said Order in Council of the sixth day of June, one thousand
eight hundred and seventy-nine, in so far as it relates to
the sections of land described in the Schedule hereto, and
doth by this present order declare that, from and after the
day of the date hereof, the reserves mentioned in the
Schedule hereto shall become vested in the Rakaia Road
Board, in trust, for the purposes named in the second
column of the Schedule.
