Powers delegated to the Moa Flat and Ettrick Domain
Board under "The Public Domains Act, 1881."

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-
sixth day of February, 1889.

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities
vested in him by "The Public Domains Act, 1881," His
Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
thereof, doth hereby revoke a certain Order in Council, dated
the eighteenth day of November, one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-eight, making delegation of certain powers in
manner as therein appears; and doth, with the like advice
and consent, by this present order, delegate, but only with
respect to the piece or parcel of land described in the
Schedule hereto, all the powers conferred by the Act afore-
said, except the powers under or conferred by sections five
and twelve thereof, to the under-mentioned persons, who
shall be known as the Moa Flat and Ettrick Public Domain
Board, namely,-

EDWARD TUBMAN,
WILLIAM WESTCOTT,
ROBERT MCLEOD,
THOMAS RICKARD, and
WILLIAM MCCONNELL

(herein referred to as "the Board"), subject to the stipula-
tions hereinafter contained, that is to say,-

  1. The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on
    the first Monday in each month, at seven o'clock p.m.,
    at the office of the Chairman, or at such other time or place
    as may from time to time be fixed by the Board. The first
    meeting shall be held on Monday, the first day of April,
    one thousand eight hundred and eighty-nine.

  2. Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman or
    by any two members of the Board, provided that two days'
    notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying
    the business to be transacted at such special meeting, and
    no other business than that so specified shall be transacted
    at such meeting.

  3. Any three of the said Board shall form a quorum. Any
    meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

  4. The members of the Board shall, at their first meeting,
    and thereafter at an annual meeting to be held on the
    first Monday in January in every succeeding year there-
    after, elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join
    in the discussion, and shall have an original as well as a
    casting vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the
    election of his successor.

  5. If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the
    time appointed for holding the same, the members present
    shall choose some one of their number to be Chairman of
    such meeting.

  6. If, by resignation, death, or incapacity, or otherwise,
    the office of Chairman shall be or become vacant, the mem-
    bers may at any monthly or special meeting appoint a
    Chairman.

  7. All questions shall be determined by the majority of
    votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Otago,
containing by estimation 420 acres, more or less, being
Section No. 44, Block I., situate in the Benger District.
Bounded towards the west by Block I., 9743 links; towards
the north-east by the Clutha River, 12000 links; towards the
south by a line commencing at the Clutha River, and pro-
ceeding due west across Trigonometrical Station B; and
thence by a road-line extending in the same direction to
Block I., 6000 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or
less; excepting out of the above description Cemetery
Reserve and road-line thereto.

visions of "The Public Bodies' Powers Act, 1887."

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-
sixth day of February, 1889.

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the Oxford Road Board, being a leasing
authority within the meaning of "The Public Bodies'
Powers Act, 1887" (hereinafter termed "the said Act"), has
requested that these presents should issue, and it appears
expedient to make the order hereinafter contained :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth
hereby order and declare that the Oxford Road Board shall,
as from the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand
Gazette, be subject to the provisions of the said Act.

Rural Lands in the Canterbury Land District open for Sale or Selection.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the second section of "The Public
Reserves Sale Act, 1888," and the third section of "The Land Act Amendment Act, 1887" (hereinafter termed
"the said Act"), I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the
report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands
enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection, after the lapse of a period of three months
from the date of the first public notification hereof, in the manner and upon the conditions mentioned in the said Act,
and at the price per acre respectively set opposite such land in the said Schedule.
