NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT A TAIL-RACE.
To the Warden at Roxburgh.
WE hereby give notice that we intend to construct a
Tail-race for mining purposes, commencing at a
point in the Clutha River at Millar's Flat, and terminating
at boundary of special claim applied for, and we estimate
that two hundred days will be required for its construction.
The length of such tail-race will be 10 chains or there-
abouts, and its intended course is east and west.
The greatest depth of such tail-race will be 25ft., and the
greatest width of such tail-race will be 50ft.

DISTRICT.
In the matter of "The Companies Act, 1882," and its amend-
ments, and in the matter of the Moanatairi Extended
Gold-mining Company (Limited).
NOTICE is hereby given that a petition of the winding-
up of the above-named company by the Supreme
Court of New Zealand was, on the fifteenth day of December,
1888, presented to His Honour Mr. Justice Gillies, a Judge
of the Supreme Court of New Zealand, by the Bank of New
Zealand, a creditor of the said company; and the said
petition is directed to be heard before a Judge of the said
Court at Auckland, New Zealand, on Tuesday, the fifteenth
day of January, 1889; and any creditor or contributory of
the said company desirous to oppose the making of an order
for the winding-up of the said company under the above Act
should appear at the time of hearing, by himself or his
counsel, for that purpose. And a copy of the petition will be
furnished to any creditor or contributory requiring the same
by the undersigned on payment of the regulated charge for
the same.

In the matter of "The Companies Act, 1882," and of the
Waikato Coal and Shipping Company (Limited).
AT an extraordinary general meeting of the above-named
company, duly convened and held at the company's
Office, 81, Queen Street, Auckland, on Monday, the 17th day
of December instant, at two of the clock in the afternoon,
the said company duly passed the following extraordinary
resolution:—
"That it has been proved to the satisfaction of the com-
pany that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities,
continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up
the same; and that accordingly the company be wound up
voluntarily under the provisions in that behalf of "The
Companies Act, 1882;" and that William Alfred Rickets
Ryan, of Auckland, Accountant, be and he is hereby ap-
pointed Liquidator for the purpose of winding-up the affairs
of the company."
