said land is Native land, and the title to same is not derived
from the Crown:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
vested in him by "The Public Works Acts Amendment Act,
1887," and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in
this behalf, His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond
Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
said colony, doth hereby order that a public road, as shown
on the plan mentioned below, may be constructed on or
through the parcel of land more particularly mentioned in
the Schedule hereto.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the third section of "The Land
Act Amendment Act, 1887" (hereinafter termed "the said
Act"), I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of
the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is
provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands enumerated
in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection,
after the lapse of a period of forty-five days from the date of
the first public notification hereof, in the manner and upon
the conditions mentioned in the said Act, and at the price
per acre respectively set opposite such land in the said
Schedule.

Increasing the Representation of Masterton Riding, County
of Wairarapa North.

WHEREAS by a Proclamation dated the sixteenth day
of October, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
eight, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the
nineteenth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-eight, the entire Pahiatua Riding of the County of
Wairarapa North was severed from that county and con-
stituted a new county, to be called the County of Pahiatua,
and it is therefore expedient that the number of Councillors
to represent one of the remaining ridings of the said County
of Wairarapa North should be increased so as to make up
the full number of the County Council:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of
the powers vested in me by the said "Counties Act, 1886," do hereby increase the number of Councillors for the Mas-
terton Riding of the County of Wairarapa North, and do
hereby declare that the number of Councillors representing
the said riding shall be three.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twentieth day of December, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-eight.
