tion No. 1, Block VI., Apiti Survey District; thence towards
the south-east by the Kiwitea River to its intersection with
the northern boundary-line of Section No. 189, Block XVI.,
Ongo Survey District; from thence towards the south by
portion of the northern boundary of the last-mentioned sec-
tion, the abuttal of a public road, the northern boundary of
the Waituna Ward, and the southern boundary of Sections
Nos. 14 and 13, Block XIV., Nos. 12 and 11, Block XIII.,
same survey district, to the Rangitikei River; thence towards
the north-west by the said Rangitikei River to the starting-
point.
Ruahine Ward.—Bounded towards the north by the
Oroua River, from the north-west corner of Section No. 23,
Block VII., Apiti Survey District, to its source, and by a
straight line bearing about 21° south of east to the summit
of the Ruahine Range; towards the east by the summit
of the Ruahine Range to the intersection of a straight line
on a bearing of about 30° south of east from the south-
eastern corner of Run No. 47, Block VIII., Pohangina Survey
District; thence towards the south by the said line, by the
southern boundary of Runs Nos. 46 and 47, Blocks VIII. and
VII., same survey district, and by the Pohangina River to
the north-east corner of Section No. 17, Block VI., same
survey district; and thence by the north-eastern boundary-
line of the Wanganui Harbour Board Block to the Oroua
River; and towards the west by the said Oroua River to the
starting-point.
Hautapu Ward.—Bounded towards the north by the Ka-
whatau River, from its confluence with the Rangitikei River
to the north-east corner of the Otamakapua No. 2b Block,
Block XIII., Hautapu Survey District; thence towards the
south-east by the eastern boundary of the said Otamakapua
No. 2b Block to its south-eastern corner; thence by a
straight line to the north-west corner of Section No. 13,
Block III., Apiti Survey District; thence by the western
boundary of the said section to the Kiwitea River; thence
by the said Kiwitea River to the northern boundary of the
Ongo Ward; thence towards the south by the northern
boundary of said ward to the Rangitikei River; thence
towards the west by the said river northward to the starting-
point.
Apiti Ward.—Bounded towards the north by the northern
boundary of the Kiwitea Road District, from the north-east
corner of Otamakapua No. 2b Block eastward to the Ruahine
Range; towards the east by the Ruahine Range and the
Ruahine Ward; towards the south by the Kimbolton and
Oroua Wards; and towards the west by the Ongo and Hau-
tapu Wards.
Pohangina Ward.—Bounded towards the north by the
Ruahine Ward; towards the east by the boundary of the
Provincial District of Wellington, from the south-east corner
of the Ruahine Ward to the Manawatu Gorge; thence
towards the south along the Gorge to the south-eastern
corner of Section No. 1, Block III., Gorge Survey District;
thence along the western boundary of the Forest Reserve of
Section No. 3, the abuttal of a public road, and Section No.
1, Block II., same survey district; and thence along the
southern boundary of the said Section No. 1 and of Sections
Nos. 27 and 39, the abuttal of a public road, and Section
No. 29, Block XIV., Pohangina Survey District; from thence
along the northern boundary of the Manchester Block to the
south-west corner of Section No. 2, Block XII., Oroua Survey
District; and towards the west by the Oroua River, from the
last-named point northward to the south-west corner of the

NOTICE is hereby given that CHARLES ST. BARBE, of
Wellington, in the Colony of New Zealand, Agent, has
applied, on behalf of the APOLLINARIS COMPANY, LIMITED, of
19, Regent Street, London, England, Dealers in Mineral
Waters, to register, under "The Trade Marks Act, 1866,"
the trade marks numbered one to six, of which the follow-
ing is a description:—
Description of Trade Mark No. 1.
The name " Apollinaris," being a fancy word not in com-
mon use, to be printed in black or white or any colour upon
white or black or any coloured ground, and to be used either
alone or in combination with other marks or printed matter.
The name " Apollinaris" having been used by the applicant
company, or their predecessors in business, since the year
1852.
Description of Trade Mark No. 2.
An oval label, in the centre of which appears the repre-
sentation of a fountain surrounded by foliage, over which
two birds are flying; above this are the words " Apollinaris
Natural Mineral Water," below it appears the name and
address of the applicant company, while on either side are
printed directions. This label to be used either alone or in
combination with other marks or printed matter, and to be
printed in black or white or any colour upon white or black
or any coloured ground. Said trade mark has been in use
by the applicant company since April, 1886, but the central
picture of the spring foliage and birds was adopted in the
year 1874.
Description of Trade Mark No. 3.
The word " Friedrichshall," being a fancy word not in
common use, associated with a disc in solid colour. The word
" Friedrichshall" is printed in italic letters on a tinted label
of oblong shape immediately above the said disc, while on
either side appears various advertising and descriptive
matter. This label may be printed on any ground. The
type and colour of the disc may be changed, as also the
wording and the style of printing of the said advertising
and descriptive matter. The word " Friedrichshall" was
adopted in the year 1850.
Description of Trade Mark No. 4.
A triangle in solid colour, equilateral in shape, beneath
which are the words " Trade Mark," and may be used in
white or black or any colour, either alone or in combination
with other mark or marks or other printed matter, and
upon white or black or any coloured ground. Has been in
use by the applicant company since April, 1885.
Description of Trade Mark No. 5.
A divided diamond, having its larger diameter vertical, and
divided by its shorter diameter into two equilateral triangles
of equal size, of which the upper is printed in solid colour,
and the lower is open in outline. Beneath it are the words
" Trade Mark;" and said trade mark may be used in white
or black or any colour, either alone or in combination with
other mark or marks or other printed matter, and upon
white or black or any coloured ground. Was adopted by
the applicant company in April, 1885.
Description of Trade Mark No. 6.
A diamond in solid colour, having its longer diameter
vertical, beneath which are the words " Trade Mark;" and
said trade mark may be used in white or black or any
colour, either alone or in combination with other mark or
marks or other printed matter, and upon white or black or
any coloured ground. Was adopted by the applicant com-
pany in April, 1885.
Nature of the Articles to which it is intended such Trade
Marks shall apply.
Mineral waters, natural or artificial.

Arson.—Free Pardon.—£100 Reward.

WHEREAS on or about the 19th September last an
unoccupied building situated in the Gladstone Road,
Gisborne, and known as the Star Brewery, was set on fire:
This is to notify that His Excellency the Governor will
grant a free pardon to any person implicated in the said
fire, not being the principal offender, who will give such in-
formation as will lead to the apprehension and conviction of
any one or more of the other offenders; and that the Phoenix
Fire Office offers a reward of £100 to any person, not being
the principal offender, who shall first give such information.
