Otago Runs classified.

IT is hereby notified for public information that the Commissioners appointed in pursuance of section 9 of “The Land Acts Amendment Act, 1888,” have reported to His Excellency the Governor that the lands described in the Schedule hereto have been classified by them as therein noted.

SCHEDULE.

CLASS I.

PASTORAL LANDS, being Lands suitable exclusively for Pasturage, and not capable of being used with Profit in Areas of less than 5,000 Acres.

Run 11: 8,900 acres, situated in the Otepopo and Waihemo Survey Districts. Bounded on the north-west by Run 464; on the north-east by Crown lands and surveyed lands; on the south-east by the southern branch of the Waianakarua River; and on the south-west by surveyed land and Run 109.

Run 170: 16,830 acres, situated chiefly in the Lammerlaw Survey District. Bounded on the north-west by surveyed land and Run 200A; on the north-east by the summit of the Lammerlaw Range; on the south-east by Runs 170A and 170B; and on the south-west by the Clutha River.

Run 200: 14,740 acres, situated in the Benger and Lammerlaw Survey Districts. Bounded on the north-west and north-east by Run 199; on the south-east by Run 200A; and on the south-west by surveyed land.

Run 200A: 13,050 acres, situated in the Lammerlaw and Benger Survey Districts. Bounded on the north-west by Run 200; on the north-east by Run 199B and the southern branch of the Teviot River; on the south-east by Run 170; and on the south-west by Gibson’s Creek and Sections 2, 4, and 8, Block XIII., Benger District.

Run 217: 18,860 acres, situated in the Kakanui and Waihemo Survey Districts. Bounded on the north-west by Run 134A; on the east by the Kauroo Survey District and Run 98; on the south-east by Run 217A; and on the south-west by the summit of the Kakanui Range.

Run 217A: 15,100 acres, situated in the Waihemo and Kakanui Survey Districts. Bounded on the north-west by Run 217; on the east and north by Run 98; again generally on the east by surveyed land; on the south by Run 217B; and on the south-west by the summit of the Kakanuis.

Run 233A: 8,800 acres, situated chiefly in the Longslip Survey District. Bounded on the north-east by Run 233; on the south-east by Longslip Creek; and on the west by the watershed between the Ahuriri and Lindis Rivers.

Run 235: 23,520 acres, situated in the Longslip and Lindis Survey Districts. Bounded on the north by Run 429A; on the east by the watershed of the Ahuriri and Lindis Rivers; on the south by a track up Pass Burn; and on the west by the Lindis River.

Run 235A: 30,330 acres, situated in the Lindis Survey District. Bounded on the north-west by the Lindis River and track up Pass Burn; on the north-east by Run 201; and on the south-east by Run 226E and Longspur Creek.

Run 236: 26,120 acres, situated in the Lower Hawea and Lindis Survey Districts. Bounded on the north by Run 335D and Breast Burn; on the south-east by the Lindis River; on the south by Runs 236H and 236F; and on the west by surveyed land, Gladstone, and Lake Hawea.

Run 243A: 28,340 acres, situated in the Otamatakau and Mount Buster Survey Districts. Bounded on the north-west by the Waitaki River; on the east by Run 243 and summit of the Kauroo Mountains; on the south-east by Run 362B; and on the west by the eastern branch of the Otamatakau and by the Otamatakau River.

Run 243B: 21,300 acres, situated in the Otamatakau and Mount Buster Survey Districts. Bounded on the north-west by the western branch of the Otamatakau River; on the north-east by the eastern branch of the Otamatakau River; and on the south by Run 362B.

Run 254: 44,280 acres, situated chiefly in the Serpentine and Sutton Survey Districts. Bounded on the west and north-west by the Taieri River; on the north-east by Runs 248 and 213C; on the east by surveyed land; and on the south-west by Run 254A.

Run 254A: 34,380 acres, situated chiefly in St. Abbs and Sutton Survey Districts. Bounded on the north-west by Taieri River; on the north-east by Run 254; on the east by surveyed land; and on the south by the Deep Stream and Run 260.

Run 260: 19,000 acres, situated in Hedgehope Survey District. Bounded on the north by Run 254A; on the south-east and south by Deep Stream; and on the south-west by Run 353C and the Taieri River.

Run 330: 12,720 acres, situated chiefly in Cromwell and Nevis Survey Districts. Bounded on the north-west and north-east by Kawarau River; on the south-east by Long Gully and Run 320A; and on the west by Nevis River.

Run 330A: 29,800 acres, situated chiefly in Bannockburn and Nevis Survey Districts. Bounded on the north-west by Run 330 and Long Gully; on the north-east by Kawarau River; on the east by the Bannockburn; on the south by Runs 339A and 339; and on the west by the Nevis River.

Run 330B: 41,130 acres, situated in the Nevis and Kawarau Survey Districts. Bounded on the north by Runs 345 and 345A; on the east by Kawarau River and Nevis River; on the south by Run 339; and on the west by the summit of the Remarkable Mountains.

Run 335D: 10,250 acres, situated in the Mid and Lower Hawea Survey District. Bounded on the north by Timaru River; on the north-east by Run 335A; on the south by Run 236; and on the west by Lake Hawea.

Run 339: 48,770 acres, situated chiefly in the Nevis and Lorn Survey Districts. Bounded on the north by Runs 330B and 330A; on the east by the summit of the Carrick Range; on the south by Run 354; and on the west by the summit of the Hector and Remarkable Mountains.

Run 339A: 32,555 acres, situated chiefly in the Bannockburn Survey District. Bounded on the north by Runs 330A and 325A; on the east by the Hawksburn and Earnscleugh River; on the south by Runs 437 and 354; and on the west by the summit of the Carrick Range.

Run 345A: 11,240 acres, situated in the Kawarau Survey District. Bounded on the north-east by the Kawarau River and surveyed land; on the south by Run 330B; and on the west by Run 345.

Run 424A: 5,500 acres, situated in the Whitecoomb Survey District. Bounded on the north by Run 436; on the east by Run 428; on the south by Waikaia Bush; and on the west by the western branch of the Waikaia River.

Run 425B: 15,900 acres, situated in the Whitecoomb and Obelisk Survey Districts. Bounded on the north by Run 477; on the east by surveyed land; on the south by Run 480; and on the west by Runs 428, 436, and 437.

Run 428: 9,770 acres, situated in Whitecoomb Survey District. Bounded on the north by Run 436; on the east by Run 425B; on the south by Runs 480 and 478; and on the west by Waikaia Bush and Run 424A.

Run 433: 7,100 acres, situated in the Upper and Mid Hawea Survey Districts. Bounded on the north by Provincial District of Canterbury; on the east by Run 459; on the south by Run 335B; and on the west by Lake Hawea and Hunter River.

Run 458: 23,100 acres, situated chiefly in the Matukituki and Cascade Survey Districts. Bounded on the north by the Cascade Burn and western branch of Matukituki River; on the east by Run 333A; on the south by Runs 22, 21, and 20 of the Wakatipu Depasturing District; and on the west by the Forbes Survey District.

Run 464: 9,290 acres, situated in the Otepopo and Waihemo Survey Districts. Bounded on the north-west by the northern branch of the Waianakarua River; on the east by surveyed lands and Crown lands; on the south-east by Run 11; and on the west by Run 109.

CLASS II.

PASTORAL LANDS as aforesaid, but suitable for Subdivision as Small Runs into Areas not exceeding 5,000 Acres.

Run 212E: 2,442 acres 1 rood 4 perches, situated in the Greenvale Survey District. Bounded on the north by surveyed land; on the east by Runs 212F and 212G; on the south by surveyed land; and on the west by the Pomahaka River.

Lease of Pastoral Runs, Poverty Bay, under “The Land Acts Amendment Act, 1888.”—Land District of Hawke’s Bay.

Napier, 26th November, 1888.

I HEREBY notify that the lands specified in the Schedule hereunder will be offered for lease, by public auction, as pastoral runs, subject to the provisions of clauses 9 and 10 of “The Land Acts Amendment Act, 1888,” at the Land Office, Gisborne, on Tuesday, the 9th January next, at 11 o’clock in the forenoon.

WHAREKOPAE RUN.—19,515 acres. Upset annual rental, £60. Description of Land: Mostly bush, but some good open and partly-grassed land in that part called Hihiroroa; the west part is densely wooded with birch; access easily obtainable by Ormond-Motu-Opotiki Road.
