Vesting Control of the Tamaki Bridge in Pakuranga Road Board.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section four of “The Public Works Acts
Amendment Act, 1887” (hereinafter termed “the
said Act”), it is, inter alia, enacted that the Governor may,
upon the terms and conditions in the said section men-
tioned, by Proclamation publicly notified, direct that any
bridge already constructed, or which may hereafter be
constructed, over or across any river or arm of the sea
respectively, shall, from and after a date to be fixed in such
Proclamation, be under the exclusive care, control, and
management of such local authority as shall be mentioned
in that behalf in such Proclamation:

And whereas it is expedient that the control and manage-
ment of the bridge described in the Schedule hereto should
be vested in the manner hereinafter described :

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and
pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by the
said Act, and of every other power and authority in anywise
enabling me in this behalf, do hereby direct that the bridge
mentioned in the Schedule hereto, and known as the Tamaki
Bridge, shall, from and after the date of the first publication
hereof in the Auckland Evening Star newspaper, be under
the exclusive care, control, and management of the Paku-
ranga Road Board; and I do hereby fix and determine that
the Pakuranga Road Board shall itself provide out of its
own funds twenty-five per centum of the cost of managing
and maintaining the said bridge and the appliances con-
ected therewith, and that the Road Boards mentioned below
shall from time to time, on demand in writing from the said
Pakuranga Road Board, pay to the said Board such proportion
of the actual cost of managing and maintaining the said
bridge, and the appliances connected therewith, as is set
opposite each of their names respectively, namely :—

Mount Wellington Road Board, sixteen per centum.
Panmure Road Board, sixteen per centum.
Howick Road Board, twelve per centum.
Tamaki West Road Board, twelve per centum.
Paparoa Road Board, eight per centum.
Turanga Road Board, six per centum.
Tamaki East Road Board, five per centum.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that portion of the main road from Howick to Panmure
where it crosses the Tamaki River, between the Parish of
Pakuranga and the Township of Panmure, being the Tamaki
Bridge and the approaches thereto, all in the Provincial Dis-
trict of Auckland; as the same is more particularly de-
lineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 15865, deposited in the
office of the Minister for Public Works, at Wellington, in the
Provincial District of Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William
Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General
in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable
Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-
Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same; and issued under the Seal of the
said Colony, at the Government House, at Wel-
ington, this twenty-seventh day of November,
in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hun-
dred and eighty-eight.

said Act”), it is, inter alia, enacted that the Governor may,

ferry or ford already established, or which may hereafter be
established, over or across any river or arm of the sea
respectively, shall, from and after a date to be fixed in such
Proclamation, be under the exclusive care, control, and
management of such local authority as shall be mentioned
in that behalf in such Proclamation :

ment of the ferry described in the Schedule hereto should
be vested in the manner hereinafter described :
