Proclaiming the Taking and Laying-off of Roads over Lands
in the Auckland Provincial District.

A PROCLAMATION.
I N pursuance and in exercise of all powers and authorities
enabling me in this behalf, I, William Francis Drum-
mond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand,
do hereby proclaim that the roads described in the Schedule
hereto have been duly taken and laid off through the lands
specified under warrant of the date given in the said
Schedule.
SCHEDULE.
ALL those parcels of land in the Auckland Land District,
containing by admeasurement 46 acres 3 roods 12 perches
and 18·6 perches respectively, more or less, situate in the
Paeroa Survey District, and being roads, 100 links wide and
varying in width, traversing the Paeroa East No. 1A Block
(No. 4440A) :—
Road containing 46 acres 3 roods 13 perches: Commencing
at a point on the north-western boundary of the Paeroa
East No. 1A Block at a distance of 16968 links or there-
abouts from its north-western angle, being the middle of
the road above referred to; and thence continuing south-
easterly generally for a distance of 46831 links or there-
abouts to a point on the south-eastern boundary of the
aforesaid block at a distance of 5834·5 links or thereabouts
from its north-eastern angle.
Portion containing 18·6 perches: Commencing at a point
on the north-western boundary of the aforesaid block at a
distance of 600 links or thereabouts from its south-western
angle. Bounded towards the north-west by a line, 456·7
links; and towards the east generally by lines, 208·6 and
261·5 links respectively, to the commencing-point.
Be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same are
delineated on Maps Nos. 4451A, 4451B, and 4451C, deposited
in the Survey Office, Auckland.
Date of Governor’s warrant, 16th November, 1886.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William
Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General
in Her Majesty’s Army, Knight Grand Cross of
the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael
and Saint George, Companion of the Most
Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and
Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s
Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and
Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the
Seal of the said Colony, at the Government
House, at Wellington, this twenty-sixth day of
October, in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-eight.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this thirtieth
day of October, 1888.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
W HEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto
is required to be taken for a public road to be con-
structed by the Masterton Road Board: And whereas the
said land is Native land, and the title to same is not derived
from the Crown:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
vested in him by “The Public Works Acts Amendment Act,
1887,” and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in
this behalf, His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond
Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
said colony, doth hereby order that a public road, as shown
on the plan mentioned below, may be constructed on or
through the parcel of land more particularly mentioned in
the Schedule hereto.
