Tenders for Conveyance of Mails.

SEALED Tenders will be received till Saturday, the 24th
November, 1888, at the Chief Post Office, Christchurch,
for the conveyance of mails between the under-mentioned
places for a period of two years, from the 1st January, 1889,
to the 31st December, 1890:—

  1. Halkett Town and Weedon's, via West Melton, daily.
  2. Hinds and Ruapuna, via Lismore and Mayfield, twice
    weekly.
  3. Hinds and Ruapuna, via Lismore and Mayfield, thrice
    weekly.
  4. Pigeon Bay Post Office and Barry's Bay Saddle,
    weekly.*

Tenders are to be addressed "The Postmaster-General,
Wellington," and marked outside "Tender for Mail Service
No. ," and enclosed to me.

Native Land Court Notices.

Application for Rehearing.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Chief Judge of the
Native Land Court will, with an Assessor, attend at
the Courthouse, Gisborne, on Saturday, the twenty-fourth
day of November, 1888, and then and there inquire into and
determine upon all applications for rehearing theretofore
made in respect of a decision of the Court given at Tologa
Bay in August last upon applications for partition of land
known as Tokomaru.

Sitting of Native Land Court re Sale of Motu No. 3.

Native Land Court Office, Auckland.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Chief Judge of the
Native Land Court will, with an Assessor, attend at
the Courthouse, Gisborne, on Saturday, the twenty-fourth
day of November, 1888, and make inquiry into the circum-
stances of the sale of the land called Motu No. 3, containing
one thousand one hundred and ninety acres, made by
Mereana Paraone and other Natives to Percival Barker, and
of a conveyance made on such sale, dated the twelfth day of
December, 1884, and upon such inquiry order will be made
as may seem fit.

month from the date of the Gazette containing this
notice a sufficient amount be realised by the sale of Rural
Sections 20078, 20079, and 20295, containing in all 115 acres,

Vol. xlii., folio 159, to satisfy the principal, interest, and
other charges due on a mortgage thereof given by THOMAS

folio 84, and evidence having been lodged as to the loss of
the original certificate, I give notice that I will issue the
certificate as requested, unless caveat be lodged forbidding
