Sheep District of Auckland amended, and Sheep Districts
of Miranda and Waikawau constituted.—Notice No. 259.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS it is expedient that the Auckland Sheep
District, as at present constituted, should be altered
and reconstituted, and that two new districts, to be called
the Miranda Sheep District and the Waikawau Sheep
District, should be constituted :

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance
and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by
the eighth section of “The Sheep Act, 1878,” do hereby
constitute anew the Auckland Sheep District, and the sub-
divisions thereof respectively, and hereby constitute two new
districts to be called the Miranda Sheep District and the
Waikawau Sheep District; and I do hereby declare that, for
the purposes of the said Act, the said districts and the sub-
divisions of the Auckland Sheep District shall hereafter be
as the same are described in the Schedule hereto, including
in such districts or subdivisions all boroughs within the terri-
torial area comprised within the external boundaries of any
such district or subdivision as defined in the said Schedule,
although such boroughs do not actually form part of any
county therein mentioned; and that such districts and sub-
divisions shall be known by the names set over each such
district and subdivision respectively in the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE.

MIRANDA SHEEP DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Provincial District of Auckland
bounded towards the east by the Frith of Thames, from
Hauarahi Stream to Pukorokoro Creek; thence towards the
south by the County of Waikato; towards the west by the
Wharekawa Nos. 3 and 2 Blocks to the north-eastern
corner of the latter block; thence by a right line to the
south-eastern corner of the Waikaka Block; thence by that
block to the Otuna Stream; and thence towards the north by
that stream and the Hauarahi Stream aforesaid to the
Frith of Thames.

WAIKAWAU SHEEP DISTRICT.

All that area in the Provincial District of Auckland
bounded towards the north by the Kirita Block, from the
Thames-Coromandel Road to the easternmost corner of that
block; thence by a right line to the northernmost source of
the Mahakirau River, in Block XIV., Coromandel Survey
District; thence by that river and the Whangamaroro River
to Whitianga Harbour; thence towards the east generally
by the said Whitianga Harbour to Waiwawa River; thence
towards the south-east by the said Waiwawa River to the
Taitoko Stream; thence towards the south generally by a
right line to the easternmost corner of Section No. 13, Block
XV., Hastings Survey District; thence by the said Section
No. 13 and Sections Nos. 14, 21, 22, and 23, and a right line
from the northernmost corner of the last-mentioned section
to the north-eastern corner of Otuturu No. 1 Block, and by
that block to the Frith of Thames; and towards the south-
west generally by the Frith of Thames.

AUCKLAND SHEEP DISTRICT.

All that area in the Provincial Districts of Auckland and
Wellington bounded towards the north-east generally by
the ocean, from North Cape to Cape Runaway; thence
towards the south-east generally by the Counties of Cook
and Wairoa to the main road from Taupo to Napier; thence
towards the south-west generally by that road to the Wai-
kato River; thence by the said Waikato River to Taupo
Moana; thence by Taupo Moana and the Counties of East
Taupo, Wanganui, and Clifton to the ocean; and towards
the west, again towards the south-west, and towards the
north by the ocean: together with all adjacent islands;
excepting from the above-described area the Sheep Districts
of Miranda and Waikawau, hereinbefore described.

Bay of Islands Subdivision.

Bounded towards the north-east by the ocean; towards the
south-east by the Counties of Whangarei and Hobson; and
towards the south-west and north by the ocean: together
with the adjacent islands.

Marsden Subdivision.

Bounded towards the north-east by the ocean; towards the
south by the County of Waitemata; towards the south-west
by the ocean; and towards the north-west by the Bay of
Islands Subdivision, hereinbefore described: together with
the islands of Turanga (Hen and Chickens), Great Barrier,
Little Barrier, Kawau, Moturake, and Motuhora, and islands
adjacent thereto.

Auckland Subdivision.

Bounded towards the north-east and west by the Hauraki
Gulf, from the southern boundary of the County of Rodney

Volunteer officers, for “Charles Frederick James, O Battery, to be Lieutenant,” read “Charles Frederic James to
be Lieutenant, O Battery;” and for “Tom Corden Probeit Whiteley, Auckland Naval Artillery Volunteers,” read “Tom
Corden Probett Whiteley to be Lieutenant, Ponsonby Naval Artillery Volunteers.”
