The name (if any) of the land granted, and the numbers and dates of the grants or other instruments containing the restrictions sought to be removed, or sufficient other information to enable grants or instruments of title to be traced and identified.

Whether the applicant is an original grantee or a successor of an original grantee. If the latter, copy of the succession order must be forwarded with the application.
Each signature to an application must be attested by a Justice of the Peace, a Solicitor of the Supreme Court, a Clerk of Resident Magistrate’s Court, or a Postmaster.
Any person signing the name of another to any application without sufficient authority will render himself liable to such penalties as the law provides. In all cases where practicable the authority to sign as agent should accompany the application.

Notice to Licensed Interpreters.
Native Office,
Wellington, 21st September, 1888.
NOTICE.—The attention of Licensed Interpreters and others is directed to the following clause in “The Native Land Court Act 1886 Amendment Act, 1888:”—
“29. All existing licenses to interpreters shall terminate on the thirty-first of December next, and new licenses terminable at any time on revocation shall be issued only to persons of approved moral character and proved knowledge of the Maori language.”
In view of the revocation of existing licenses, applications for appointment as Licensed Interpreters must be forwarded to the Native Office, Wellington, if possible by the 31st October proximo, but not later than the 15th November; each application to be accompanied by a certificate of qualification, and testimonials and references, in accordance with the above-mentioned clause.

Time and Place for Payment of Property-tax.
Property-tax Department,
Wellington, 25th September, 1888.
NOTICE is hereby given that property-tax under “The Property-tax Act, 1888,” for the year commencing on the first day of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-eight, will be payable as follows:—
In respect of the duty of one penny, where the amount of such duty shall be under fifteen pounds, the same shall be paid on the sixth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-eight; and where such duty amounts to fifteen pounds, or exceeds that sum, the same shall be paid in two equal instalments, the first of such instalments being payable on the said sixth day of November, and the second of such instalments on the fifth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-nine.
And notice is hereby further given that the places where the said tax shall be paid shall be any post office which is also a money-order office, and at the office of the Property-tax Commissioner, at the Government Buildings, Wellington.

Native Land Court Notices.
Application under “The Native Equitable Owners Act, 1886.”
NOTICE is hereby given that, in respect of each of the several lands named in the Schedule hereto, an application has, under “The Native Equitable Owners Act, 1886,” been made to the Court by Natives claiming to be beneficially interested in such lands, that inquiry be made as to the existence or otherwise of any intended trust affecting the title to such land, and that Natives found to be beneficially interested may have their ownership declared under the said Act.
And, pending the completion of inquiry as directed by the said Act, persons are hereby cautioned against any dealings with the said lands respectively.

NOTICE is hereby given that a sitting of the Native Land Court will be held at Greytown, on Thursday, the 25th day of October, 1888, for the purpose of ascertaining what amount of compensation ought to be paid to the Native owners of the land being portion of Section 60 of Block IX., in the Survey District of Kopuaranga, in the Provincial District of Wellington, in respect of that portion of the said land taken under Order in Council dated the 14th day of June, 1887, for railway purposes, as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 14762, deposited at the office of the Minister for Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington, and thereon coloured red; and also for the purpose of ascertaining who are the persons entitled to be paid such compensation, and what land is affected by the said Order in Council.
