Act, 1882," and its amendments, for a certain work, to wit,
the construction of a road in Wairoa Road District:
And whereas the Wairoa Road Board has laid before the
Governor the memorial, accompanied by a map, and also
the statutory declaration, required by the said Act and the
amendments thereof:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise
and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested
by "The Public Works Act, 1882," and of every other power
and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do
hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the date
of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, the
lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are hereby taken for
the purposes of the construction of the said road.

in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of
the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael
and Saint George, Companion of the Most
Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and

Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies,
and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government
House, at Wellington, this twenty-second day of

WHEREAS the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto
are required to be taken for the purposes of the
Seadown water-races, in the County of Geraldine, in the
Provincial District of Canterbury:
And whereas the Geraldine County Council has laid before
the Governor the memorial, accompanied by a map, and
also the statutory declaration, required by "The Public
Works Act, 1882," and the amendments thereof:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and
pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred by "The
Counties Act, 1886," and "The Public Works Act, 1882,"
and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling
me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that, from
and after the date of the publication hereof in the New
Zealand Gazette, the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto
shall be taken for the purposes of the construction of the
said works.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by section thirty-one of "The Municipal
Corporations Act, 1886," it is provided that, if not
less than one-half of the burgesses of each ward of a divided
borough petition the Governor to abolish such wards, the
Governor may, by Proclamation, declare such wards to be
abolished, and such borough shall thereafter be deemed to
be an undivided borough: And whereas not less than one-
half of the burgesses of each ward of the divided Borough of
Masterton have petitioned me to abolish such wards:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance
and exercise of the hereinbefore recited authority, do hereby
proclaim and declare the wards of the Borough of Masterton
to be abolished, and that such borough shall hereafter be
deemed to be an undivided borough.

WHEREAS by the sixth section of "The Licensing Act,
1881," it is enacted that the Governor shall, as soon
as conveniently may be after the commencement of the said
Act, by Proclamation in the Gazette, from time to time
define districts to be licensing districts under the said Act,
and from time to time may alter and redefine the boundaries
of the same:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
