Trade Marks, Road Board Orders, Maritime Notices, Goldfield Rewards

Aug. 16.] THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE. 887

No. 3 consists of the word "Union," which, as generally
employed, is arranged diagonally upon a shield composed of
various bright colours placed centrally upon a small, dark,
square panel enclosed within the outline of a larger red
panel of similar form, which appears upon the side of a
rectangular paper-bag, illustrated in perspective on a dark
background. Across the top of the red panel are placed the
words "Union Square," while at the bottom thereof, on an
elongated panel of a greyish tint, are the words "Size Printed
on Each," with the word "Bag" immediately below. Im-
mediately above the central shield appear the words "Full
Weight" and "Full Size," while below the shield is a yellow
scroll bearing the words "Paper Bags." On the edge of the
bag is the number of bags contained in the package or
receptacle to which the mark is applied, as "500," and
below this number are the words "Square Bags," indicating
the character of the article. The descriptive and all other
matter, except the word "Union," may, however, be varied
at pleasure, or be replaced by other preferred matter, without
altering the character of the trade mark, the essential feature
of which is the word "Union."

Nature of the Article to which it is intended such Trade
Marks shall apply.

Paper-bags.
