Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, Knight, Chief Justice, in the name and on behalf of His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, and as his duly-appointed Deputy, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me in this behalf, do hereby appoint the districts described in the Schedule hereto to be districts in which “The Destitute Persons Act, 1887,” shall, on and after the first day of August next, come into operation in respect of persons of the aboriginal native race.
SCHEDULE.
THE Whangarei District, as the same is described in a Proclamation issued under “The Resident Magistrates Act, 1867,” dated the 26th day of May, 1881, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 2nd June, 1881.
As witness the hand of His Excellency Sir James Prendergast, Knight, Chief Justice, as such Deputy as aforesaid, this twenty-fifth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-eight.

SPECIAL ORDER.
I, the undersigned, Clerk of the Waimea County Council, hereby certify that the following resolution has been duly passed by the said Council, at their meeting held at Nelson, on Wednesday, the 18th day of July, 1888, and that the requirements of the Acts have been complied with:—
That a special order be now made to dissolve the Upper Motueka Road Board, and constitute three new road districts.
That the first be named the Stanley Brook Road District; the Board to consist of five members; and that John Horace Symes, of Stanley Brook, be Returning Officer; and that the election take place at the Schoolroom, at Stanley Brook, as soon as special order is gazetted.
That the second be named the Motupiko Road District; the Board to consist of five members; and that Walter B. Thomson, of Motupiko, be Returning Officer; and that the election take place at the Schoolroom, Motupiko, as soon as special order is gazetted.
And that the third be named the Tadmor Road District; the Board to consist of five members; and that Harry A. Quinton be Returning Officer; and that the election take place at the Schoolroom, Sherry, as soon as special order is gazetted.
