the Rangitikei County Council, is published in accord-
ance with “The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1886.”

RESULT OF POLL FOR PROPOSED LOAN, MORGAN LINE
SPECIAL RATING DISTRICT.
THE following is the result of the poll taken on the 17th July,
1888, on a proposal to raise a loan of £100, under the pro-
visions of “The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1886,” for the
purpose of constructing the Morgan line of road, situate
within the Makohau Riding, County of Rangitikei:—
Number of ratepayers on the roll, 4, representing 5 votes;
number of ratepayers who voted for the proposal, 4; number
of votes recorded for the proposal, 5.
All the ratepayers entitled to vote at the poll having voted
in favour of the proposal, I therefore declare it to be carried.

Notice of Intention to take Land for an approach Road to
Woodhill Station on the Kaipara-Waikato Railway.
NOTICE is hereby given, that it is proposed, under the
provisions of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” to exe-
cute a certain public work, to wit, the construction of
an approach road to Woodhill Station on the Kaipara-
Waikato Railway, and for the purposes of such public
work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are
required to be taken; and notice is further given that
the plans of the said road and of the lands so required to
be taken are deposited in the Post Office, at Woodhill, and
are there open for inspection. And notice is hereby given
that all persons affected by the execution of the said public
work or by the taking of the said lands shall, if they have
any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said
public work or to the taking of such lands, set forth the
same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days
from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister for
Public Works, Wellington.

for Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District
of Wellington, and thereon coloured neutral tint and yellow.

day of July, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-eight.

Reward of £10,000 offered for the Discovery of New Gold-
fields.—Amended Conditions.

REWARDS of £10,000 are offered for the discovery of new
goldfields, upon the amended conditions set forth
hereunder.

AMENDED CONDITIONS.
- The maximum sum offered as a reward for any proved
discovery of a new goldfield in accordance with these condi-
tions is £5,000 for the North Island, and £5,000 for the
Middle Island. - The newly-discovered goldfield must be situated not
less than forty miles from any existing goldfield or any
existing workings. - No reward shall be payable until 50,000 ounces of gold
have been produced from the newly-discovered goldfield
within three years from the date of its being registered. - Any person discovering new gold-workings, and being
desirous of obtaining the reward, shall immediately forward
a written report of such discovery, with full particulars, to
the Warden or Resident Magistrate of the district within
which such discovery shall be situated, and the Warden or
Resident Magistrate shall forthwith register the report as an
application for reward. - No prospecting will be allowed upon Native land with-
out a prospecting license authorising the person therein
named, with the consent of the owner of the land, to prospect,
in accordance with the provisions of sections one hundred
and thirty-five to one hundred and thirty-seven of “The
Mining Act, 1886,” inclusive.
No reward shall be paid for any discovery that may be
made upon Native land without the consent of the Native
owners and the approval of the Minister of Mines.
