Defining the Middle Line of a Further Portion of the North
Island Main Trunk Line of Railway, from a Point at
or near Marton to Te Awamutu, via Murimotu, Tauma-
rarui, and the Ongaruhu River Valley: Poro-o-tarao
Section.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the North Island Main Trunk Line of Rail-
way, from a point at or near Marton to Te Awamutu,
via Murimotu, Taumararui, and the Ongaruhu River Valley,
is one of the railways specified in the First Schedule to "The
Railways Authorisation Act, 1884," and which Act is, in the
eighth section thereof, declared to be a special Act autho-
rising the construction of such railway; and such railway is
unfinished, and it has been determined to construct and
maintain a further portion of the same, namely, Poro-o-tarao
Section:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and
pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred on me by
the aforesaid section eight of "The Railways Authorisation
Act, 1884," and by sections one hundred and twenty-nine and
one hundred and thirty of "The Public Works Act, 1882," and in exercise of every other power and authority in any-
wise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and
declare that the middle line of the said further portion of
the said railway shall be as defined and set forth in the
Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
COMMENCING at a point in Block II., Ongaruhu Survey Dis-
trict, situated about 12 chains northwards from the Parakoko
Stream; extending thence generally in a south-easterly direc-
tion for a total distance of about 1 mile 34 chains; passing
in, through, or over the following lands, viz., Native lands in
Blocks II. and VI., Ongaruhu Survey District, and termi-
inating at a point in the said Block VI. situate about 3
chains distant in a westerly direction from the Ohinemoa
Stream; including all intervening places, roads, tracks,
rivers, streams, and watercourses; all in the Provincial
District of Auckland; in the manner delineated on a plan
marked P.W.D. 15763, a copy of which is deposited in the
office of the Registrar of the Supreme Court at Auckland.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William
Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General
in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of
the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael
and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honour-
able Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same; and issued under the Seal of the
said Colony, at the Government House, at Wel-
ington, this fourteenth day of July, in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-eight.

in Wairarapa North County.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS it is desirable, for the use, convenience, and
enjoyment of the public work known as the Eketaha-
huna-Tinui Road, in the Wairarapa North County, to take,
purchase, and acquire the land mentioned in the Schedule
hereto:
And whereas the Wairarapa North County Council has laid
before the Governor the memorial, accompanied by a map,
and also the statutory declaration, required by the said Act
and the amendments thereof:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise
and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by
"The Public Works Act, 1882," and of every other power
and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do
hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the date
of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, the
land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken
for the purposes of the construction of the said road.
