  5. In Lambton Quay, near the Government Buildings,
    and in Lambton Quay, near Johnston and Brandon
    Streets; and by the construction of a lay-by down
    Cuba Street, with a turn-out from the same into Man-
    ners Street.

And notice is hereby further given that application is, at
the time and in manner aforesaid, intended to be made
to His Excellency the Governor in Council to extend and
amend the said order of the 29th June, 1876, in manner fol-
lowing, that is to say,--

  1. By declaring that the route of the said tramway shall
    be the route, with its branches and sidings, now used
    for traffic, and a lay-by and turn-out in Cuba Street
    and Manners Street, as respectively shown upon a
    plan which will be deposited by us with the said appli-
    cation:
  2. By amending clause III. so as to authorise the rails to
    be used in the renewal of any part of the said tram-
    way to be of steel, of a weight of at least 32lb. to the
    yard, and of such pattern as the City Surveyor shall
    from time to time approve:
  3. By the omission from the said order and from the
    schedule and regulations at foot thereof of all matters
    relating to the use of the said tramway for the carriage
    of goods, except passengers' luggage, to the extent in
    the said order mentioned:
  4. By the omission from the said regulations of the limi-
    tation in the rate of speed through Willis Street, in
    the said city, in the case of carriages drawn by horses,
    but so, nevertheless, that the maximum speed used
    upon the said tramway shall in no case exceed eight
    miles an hour.

And notice is hereby further given that the deposit required
by subsection 2 of section 7 of "The Tramways Act, 1872," will be made at the expiration of ten days from the publication
hereof, at the office of the Registrar of the Supreme Court at
Wellington, and at the office of the Public Works Depart-
ment of the General Government of New Zealand, in the
City of Wellington, and at the office of the City Surveyor of
the said City of Wellington; and that printed copies of the
draft order when deposited pursuant to subsection 3 of
the Third Schedule of "The Tramways Act, 1872," and of
the order when made, will be deposited at the office of us,
the said Morgan Stanislaus Grace and Robert Mackay Green-
field, at the Tramway Sheds, in Adelaide Road aforesaid.

In the matter of "The Companies Act, 1882," and in the
matter of the Wanganui Heads Railway Company
(Limited).

NOTICE is hereby given that the order of the Supreme
Court (Wellington District), dated the 4th day of May
instant, confirming the reduction of the capital of the above-
named company from £15,000 to £7,500, and the minute
showing with respect to the capital of the company, as
altered, the several particulars required by the above Act,
were registered by the Registrar of Joint-stock Companies
on the 10th day of May, 1888. And further take notice that
the said minute is in the words and figures following:--
The capital of the company is £7,500, divided into 3,000
shares of £2 10s. each. At the time of the registration of
this minute 1,989 of the said shares are issued, and are and
shall be deemed to be fully paid up, and 1,011 are unissued.

Dated this 16th day of May, 1888.

UBSCRIPTIONS.—The subscription is at the rate of 30s.
per annum, PAYABLE IN ADVANCE. A less period than
three months cannot be subscribed for.

Single copies of the Gazette, 6d. each.

Advertisements are charged at the uniform rate of 6d. per
line for each insertion.

For half-yearly statements under the Mining Act, the
charge will be 2s.

All advertisements should be written on one side of the
paper, and signatures, &c., should be written in a legible
hand.

The number of insertions required must be written across
the face of the advertisement.
