WHEREAS by the two hundred and twenty-seventh section of “The Land Act, 1885,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Land Districts of Auckland, Wellington, Nelson, Otago, and Southland, described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the purposes in the said Schedule specified.

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND.

ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 9 perches, more or less, situate in the Parish of Mangapiko, in the Puniu Survey District, and being Section No. 154 of the Town of Te Awamutu. Bounded towards the north-east by Alexandra Road, 79·6 links; towards the south-east by Section No. 155, 148·8 links; towards the south-west by Section No. 166, 15 links; and towards the north-west by Section No. 153, 126 links, to the commencing-point: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on Map No. 1367, deposited in the Survey Office, Auckland. For a site for a public library.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 10 acres, more or less, being Section No. 27A of Block XVI., Otamatea Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by Section No. 27, 805·6 links; towards the south-east by Section No. 7 of Block XII., Pakiri Survey District, 1531·7 links; generally towards the south-west by a road, 100 links wide, 329·3, 375·2, and 223·4 links; and towards the north-west by Section No. 27 of Block XVI., Otamatea aforesaid, 1087·8 links, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For a site for a public hall.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 10 acres, more or less, called or known as Section No. 127, Parish of Mangapai. Bounded on all sides by a road, 100 links wide. For a site for a cemetery.

WELLINGTON.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Wellington, containing by admeasurement 4 acres 2 roods 29¾ perches, more or less, being Sections Nos. 66, 67, 68, 69, 70, 71, 72, and 73, Town of Linton. Bounded on the north by a public road, 550 links; on the east by Derby Street, 852 links; on the south by Sections Nos. 74, 75, 76, 77, and 78, 550 links; and on the west by Beaconsfield Street, 852 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Wellington. For a school-site.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Wellington, containing by admeasurement 3 roods 26¾ perches, more or less, being Sections Nos. 145, 146, and 147, Town of Linton. Bounded on the north by Cook Street, 441 links; on the east by Section No. 148, 250 links; on the south by Sec-
