Extension of Time for Preparation of Grey County Rolls.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this eighth day of May, 1888.
Present:
His Excellency the Governor in Council.
WHEREAS it has been made to appear that, owing to unavoidable circumstances, the preparation of the rolls for the County of Grey, and the taking of certain steps consequent on such preparation, cannot be made and taken within the times limited by “The Counties Act, 1886,” and it is expedient to extend the said times respectively:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers conferred upon him by the said Act, and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order and declare that the several dates mentioned in the second column of the Schedule hereto shall be the respective dates for taking the several steps set opposite such times in the first column of the said Schedule respectively.
SCHEDULE.

| 4. Revision Courts may sit for hearing applications with reference to the said rolls, and adjourn: | 4. Until the 30th June, 1888. |
| 5. Time when the said rolls, having been duly corrected and signed, shall come into force: | 5. On the 1st July, 1888. |

Fixing Pilotage for Wairau.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this eighth day of May, 1888.
Present:
His Excellency the Governor in Council.
WHEREAS by the two hundred and fifteenth section of “The Harbours Act, 1878” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is, among other things, enacted that every Harbour Board shall have power from time to time, by by-laws, to do the following things for and within the limits of the harbour under the control of such Harbour Board, namely, to fix and alter pilotage rates, and to determine the nature of the services for which pilotage rates shall be payable for and within the limits of the harbour under the control of such Harbour Board:
And whereas by the twelfth section of the said Act it is enacted that in harbours where there is no Harbour Board the Governor in Council shall have all the powers, functions, duties, and authorities by that Act conferred upon Harbour Boards, and may exercise the same in accordance with the said Act:
And whereas there is no Harbour Board for the harbour of Wairau, and it appears expedient to make a by-law for the purpose hereinafter set forth:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the said Act, doth hereby make the following by-law in respect of the harbour of Wairau, and doth hereby order that such by-law shall come into force on the fourteenth instant.
BY-LAW.
The pilotage rates set forth in the Schedule hereto are hereby fixed and authorised to be levied and taken at the harbour in the said Schedule mentioned, in lieu of the pilotage rates fixed by by-law made by Order in Council dated the 30th August, 1887.
SCHEDULE.
Wairau Harbour.
PILOTAGE over the bar (charged both inwards and outwards):
Sailing-vessels and steamers, 1¼d. per ton register.

Westland School Commissioners to be subject to the Provisions of “The Public Bodies’ Powers Act, 1887.”

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this eighth day of May, 1888.
Present:
His Excellency the Governor in Council.
WHEREAS by section four of “The Public Bodies’ Powers Act, 1887” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is provided that the Governor, by Order in Council, may from time to time declare that any leasing authority shall be subject to the provisions of the said Act, but that no such order shall have any effect unless it be issued at the request or upon the recommendation of the leasing authority on whose behalf such order is issued:
And whereas it has been made to appear that the School Commissioners for the Provincial District of Westland are a leasing authority within the meaning of the said Act, and have requested that they may be brought under the provisions thereof:
Now, therefore, His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by the said Act, doth hereby order and declare that from and after the date hereof the School Commissioners for the Provincial District of Westland shall be subject to the provisions of “The Public Bodies’ Powers Act, 1887.”
