Seadown Water-races, County of Selwyn.—Amended
Description of Race No. 1.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS in exercise of the powers conferred by sec-
tion two hundred and sixty-seven of “The Counties
Act, 1886.” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), His Excel-
lency the Governor, at the request of the Geraldine County
Council, did, by Proclamation bearing date the thirteenth
day of March last past, proclaim and declare the lands
described in the Schedule to the said Proclamation to be
water-races, by the name of the Seadown Water-races:
And whereas the said Geraldine County Council has re-
quested that the boundaries and limits of the water-race
described as Water-race No. 1 in the said Schedule should
be altered in the manner hereinafter appearing, and it
appears expedient to make such alteration.
Now, therefore, His Excellency Sir William Francis Drum-
mond Jervois, in exercise of the powers conferred by the
said Act, and of all other powers enabling him in this be-
half, and acting at the request of the said Geraldine County
Council, doth hereby proclaim and declare that the bounda-
ries of Water-race No. 1 of the said Seadown Water-races
shall henceforth be those described in the Schedule hereto,
in lieu of the boundaries heretofore assigned to the said
water-race, and described in the Schedule to the above-recited
Proclamation of the thirteenth day of March aforesaid.
SCHEDULE.
SEADOWN WATER-RACES.
Race No. 1.
ALL that area, 100 link in width, situate in the Pareora and
Arowhenua Survey Districts, County of Geraldine, com-
mencing at a point on the right bank of the Opihi River in
Rural Section No. 21122, and proceeding generally in an
easterly direction intersecting said Section No. 21122;
thence, 50 links in width, intersecting Sections Nos. 10454,
12448, 9854, 9855, and 15657, to the road forming the eastern
boundary of the last-mentioned section; thence, 12½ links in
width, across that road, and intersecting Sections Nos. 8853,
19100, 10728, 10895, 10381, and 10306, to the road forming
the eastern boundary of the last-mentioned section; thence
across that road, and intersecting Sections Nos. 10716, 11234,
and 4828, across the road forming the southern boundary of
the last-mentioned section, to the northern boundary of
Section No. 15607, intersecting that section to the road
forming its eastern boundary; thence across that road, and
proceeding along the southern side of the road forming the
northern boundary of Section No. 15606, crossing that road,
and again intersecting the said Sections Nos. 4828 and
4829 to the road forming the eastern boundary of the last-
mentioned section; thence across that road, and intersect-
ing Sections Nos. 4816, 5345, and 5638, across the road
forming the southern boundary of the last-mentioned sec-
tion, and intersecting Sections Nos. 9833, 4514, 4226, 4129,
and 4225, to the sea.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William
Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General
in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of
the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael
and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honour-
able Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same; and issued under the Seal of the
said Colony, at the Government House, at Wel-
lington, this fourth day of May, in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
eight.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities
conferred upon him in that behalf by section thirty-seven
of “The Public Works Acts Amendment Act, 1887,” His
Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, doth hereby pro-
claim and declare that the portion of Ngatitama Street, in
the City of Nelson, described in the Schedule hereto shall,
as from the date of the publication hereof in the New Zea-
land Gazette, be closed; and that the portion of the said
street so described shall, as from the date aforesaid, be added
to the adjoining land required for the Nelson Lunatic Asylum.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that portion of Ngatitama Street, in the City of Nelson,
between Franklin Street and Motueka Street, as the same is
more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D.
15153, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public
Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wel-
lington, and thereon coloured red.
