Proclaiming the Taking and Laying-off of Roads over Lands
in the Auckland Provincial District.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and in exercise of all powers and authorities
enabling me in this behalf, I, William Francis Drum-
mond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand,
do hereby proclaim that the roads described in the Schedule
hereto have been duly taken and laid off through the lands
specified under warrant of the date given in the said
Schedule.
SCHEDULE.
ALL those parcels of land in the Provincial District of Auck-
land, containing by admeasurement 14 acres 3 roods 2
perches, 1 acre 2 roods 28 perches, and 3 acres 1 rood 30
perches respectively, more or less, situate in the Turanganui
Survey District, and being road-lines, 100 links wide and
upwards, traversing Te Arai No. 2 Block (No. 754) :—
Road containing 14 acres 3 roods 2 perches: Commencing
at a point on the southern side of the road which traverses
the northern portion of Te Arai No. 2 Block, and taken under
warrant of His Excellency the Governor of the 22nd March,
1881, at a distance of 167 links or thereabouts from the south-
western boundary of the Whenuahou Block, being the middle
of the road above referred to; and thence continuing southerly
generally for a distance of 14770 links or thereabouts to its
junction with another road.
Road containing 1 acre 2 roods 28 perches: Commencing
at a point on the eastern side of the road hereinbefore
described at a distance of 4926·4 links or thereabouts from
the southern side of the road at its northern termination,
being the middle of the road aforesaid; and thence continu-
ing easterly for a distance of 1690·9 links or thereabouts to
the south-western angle of the Taringamotuhia Block.
Road containing 3 acres 1 rood 30 perches: Commencing
at the western termination of the road which lies within the
northern portion of the Pukewhinau Block, and held under
certificate of title dated the 7th September, 1887, being the
middle of the road above referred to; and thence continuing
westerly generally for a distance of 3430 links or thereabouts
to its junction with another road.
Be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same are
delineated on Maps Nos. 4453 and 4454, deposited in the
Survey Office, Auckland.
Date of Governor’s warrant, 22nd March, 1881.

in Her Majesty’s Army, Knight Grand Cross of
the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael
and Saint George, Companion of the Most
Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and
Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s
Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and
Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at the Govern-
ment House, at Wellington, this twenty-sixth
day of April, in the year of our Lord one thou-
sand eight hundred and eighty-eight.

IN pursuance and in exercise of all powers and authorities
enabling me in this behalf, I, William Francis Drum-
mond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand,
do hereby proclaim that the roads described in the Schedule

SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the County of Wairarapa South,
containing by admeasurement 2 acres and 37 perches, more
or less, being a road-line, 100 links wide, running in a north-
westerly and north-easterly direction through Section No.
242, Tiffin Survey District, the eastern side of which road
commences at a point on the south-eastern boundary of said
Section No. 242 about 1310 links from its south-eastern
corner, and terminates on the north-eastern boundary of
that section about 1295 links from its said south-eastern
corner.
Date of warrants, 30th November, 1882, and 22nd Novem-
ber, 1884.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this first day
of May, 1888.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section two hundred and twenty-seven
of “The Licensing Act, 1881” (herein termed “the
said Act”), it is provided that if, through any accidental or
unavoidable impediment, misfeasance, or omission, anything
required by the said Act to be done is omitted to be done,
or is not done within the time fixed, the Governor in Council
may take all such measures as may be necessary for remov-
ing such impediment or rectifying such misfeasance or
omission, and may validate anything which may have been
irregularly done in matter of form, so that the intent and
purpose of the Act may have effect:
And whereas the local option poll which should have been
taken in the Licensing Districts of Hawera, Borough of
Hawera, Ngai re, and Waimate, in the Provincial District of
Taranaki, respectively, during the month of March, was not
so taken, no date having been appointed by the Chairman of
each of the Licensing Committees of the said districts for
taking of the said poll: And whereas it appears expedient
to extend the time for taking the said poll in each of the
districts aforesaid:
Now, therefore, His Excellency Sir William Francis Drum-
mond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand,
in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred by the said Act, and of all other powers enabling
him in this behalf, and by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby
order and declare that the next poll of the ratepayers of the
Licensing Districts of Hawera, Borough of Hawera, Ngai re,
and Waimate, in the Provincial District of Taranaki, to be
taken under the provisions of section forty-six of the said Act,
shall take place on the twenty-second day of the month of
May instant; and in exercise of the like powers and
authorities, and with the like advice and consent as afore-
said, His Excellency doth hereby further order and declare
that the Chairman of each of the Licensing Committees of
the said districts shall give the like notices, and such pro-
ceedings shall be had and taken, mutatis mutandis, in all
respects as if the said poll were about to be taken in the
usual and regular course in each of the said districts.
