Redivision of the Borough of Palmerston North into Three Wards, under “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886.”

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886,” section twenty-eight, it is enacted that, if not less than one-fourth of the burgesses of each ward of a divided borough petition the Governor, praying him to redivide such borough into other wards, the Governor may, by Proclamation, redivide such borough into new wards, with such names and boundaries as he thinks fit: And whereas not less than one-fourth of the burgesses of each of the four wards of the Borough of Palmerston North have petitioned me to redivide such borough into three wards:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the hereinbefore recited authority, do hereby proclaim and declare that the Borough of Palmerston North shall be and the same is hereby redivided into three wards, with the names and boundaries set forth in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.
WARD No. 1.
ALL that area bounded towards the north-east by Section No. 242, Town of Palmerston North, a road line, and Sections Nos. 200 and 199; towards the north-west by the north-western side of Grey Street to a point in line with the middle of Victoria Street; again towards the north-east by a line along the middle of Victoria Street to the railway-line; towards the south-east by the railway-line; towards the south-west by the south-western boundary of the Borough of Palmerston North; and towards the north-west by the north-western boundary of the Borough of Palmerston North.
WARD No. 2.
All that area bounded towards the north-east by a line along the middle of Alexandra Street; towards the north-west by a line along the middle of College Street to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section No. 3, Native Reserve, Town of Palmerston North; thence towards the north by a right line to and by that section; towards the east generally by the Manawatu River; towards the south-west by the south-western boundary of the Borough of Palmerston North; and again towards the north-west by Ward No. 1, hereinbefore described.
WARD No. 3.
All that area bounded towards the north-east by the north-eastern boundary of the Borough of Palmerston North; towards the east generally by the Manawatu River; towards the south and south-west by Wards Nos. 1 and 2, hereinbefore described; and towards the north-west by the north-western boundary of the Borough of Palmerston North.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in Her Majesty’s Army, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-sixth day of April, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-eight.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and in exercise of all powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim that the road described in the Schedule hereto has been duly taken and laid off through the land specified under warrants of the dates given in the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE.
ALL those parcels of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 59 acres 1 rood 34 perches, more or less, situate in the Mata Survey District, and being a road-line, 100 links wide and upwards, traversing the Waipiro, Akuaku, Waihuka, Pahitaua, and Ahi-o-te-Atua Blocks respectively: Portion traversing the Waipiro Block containing 28 acres 1 rood 13 perches, that portion traversing the Akuaku Block containing 16 acres 1 rood 30 perches, that portion traversing the Waihuka Block containing 1 rood 38 perches, that portion traversing the Pahitaua Block containing 7 acres and 13 perches, and that portion traversing
