Bounded towards the north-west by the south-eastern boundary of the Pollock Settlement Road District aforesaid to the Manukau Harbour ; towards the north-east by the waters of the Manukau Harbour and the Waiuku River as far as the north-western boundary of Subdivision No. 4, hereinbefore described ; towards the south-east by the north-western boundary of Subdivision No. 4 aforesaid to the sea ; and towards the south-west by high-water mark of the sea to the commencing-point.
I certify that the above special order has been duly made by the Waipipi Road Board, and confirmed at a special meeting held for the purpose on the 7th April, 1888.

THE following special orders, made by the Hawke’s Bay County Council, are published in accordance with “The Counties Act, 1886.”

I, John Bennett, Chairman of the Hawke’s Bay County Council, do hereby certify that the following special order, passed at a meeting of the Hawke’s Bay County Council on the 15th day of August, 1887, was duly confirmed at a special meeting held on the 19th day of September, 1887 :—
Resolved, That it be a special order of the Hawke’s Bay County Council that that portion of the Meanee Road Board District comprising the Papakura Ward, and bounded as follows—Commencing at the mouth of the Tutaekuri River ; thence in a north-easterly direction to the southern boundary of the Napier Borough ; thence following the said boundary in an easterly direction to the sea-coast ; thence following the coast in a generally southerly direction to the mouth of the Waitangi River ; thence following the Waitangi River to its junction with the Totara Creek ; thence generally south-west along the south-eastern boundaries of the Meanee South Suburban Section to the Tutaekuri-Waimate Stream ; thence generally southerly down that stream to the junction with the Ngaruroro River ; thence generally westerly up that river to the western boundary of the Ohikakarewa Block ; thence along that boundary to the Korokipo Block ; thence along the south-west boundary of that block in a north-westerly direction to the main road ; thence following the said road generally northerly to the Redclyffe Bridge on the Tutaekuri River ; thence following the said river in an easterly and northerly direction to the starting-point—shall be declared to be a new Road Board district, under the name of the Papakura Road Board District.

Description of Boundaries of Meanee Road Board.—Commencing at the mouth of the Tutaekuri River ; thence bounded on the north by the edge of the Ahuriri Harbour to the north-west corner of the Meanee suburban sections ; thence following the western boundaries of the Meanee suburban sections in a southerly direction to the south-west corner of Suburban Section 60 ; thence along the southern boundary-line of the said Section 60 produced to the east side of Church Road ; thence along Church Road in a northerly direction to the south-west corner of Section 57 ; thence following the southern boundaries of Sections 57 and 44, Meanee, to the Napier-Taradale Road ; thence bounded on the south-east by the north side of the said road to Suburban Section 35, Meanee ; thence bounded on the south-east
by the western boundary of Suburban Section 35 ; thence bounded on the south-east by the north-west boundaries of Sections 35 and 36, Meanee, to the Purimu Creek ; thence bounded on the north-west by the Purimu Creek to where it crosses the western boundary-line of Suburban Section 36, Meanee ; thence bounded on the north-west by Suburban Sections 35 and 37, across a road, and by Suburban Section 17, Meanee, and by the eastern boundary-line of the last-named section produced to the Tutaekuri River ; thence following the western bank of the said river to the commencing-point.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Vincent County Council, is published in accordance with “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886.”

Notice is hereby given that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Vincent County, held in accordance with section 39 of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,” on Saturday, the 10th day of March, 1888, on the proposal of the said Council to borrow the sum of £3,000, the following result accrued :—
Number of ratepayers entitled to vote, 784 ; entitled to record, 884 votes. Votes recorded for the proposal, 299 ; number of ratepayers that recorded their votes in favour of proposal, 269 ; votes against proposal, 13 ; number of ratepayers that recorded their votes against proposal, 12.
And whereas a majority in number of the ratepayers did not vote in favour of the above proposal, now, therefore, in accordance with section 39 of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,” I declare the said proposal to be rejected.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Friday, the 18th May, 1888, at 7.30 p.m., to be the time, and the Wesleyan Schoolroom at Birkenhead to be the place, for holding the first meeting of the Borough Council of Birkenhead, in lieu of Wednesday, the 23rd May, 1888, at the same hour and place, as fixed by notification dated the 11th April, 1888, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 12th April.

Alteration in the Scale of Charges in force on the New Zealand Railways.
IN accordance with section 144 of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” I, Edwin Mitchelson, the Minister for Public Works, do hereby make the following alteration in the scale of charges, to come into force from and after the 30th April, 1888 :—
GREYMOUTH SECTION.
Coke consigned to Greymouth for export to ports beyond the Colony of New Zealand will be charged 2s. 6d. per ton, including weighing and delivering to ships. Minimum charge, 12s. per truck.
