ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-
ninth day of March, 1888.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

BY virtue and in pursuance of the power and authority
conferred upon me by the fifteenth section of "The
Electric Lines Act, 1884," and of every other power enabling
me in this behalf, and acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the Colony of New
Zealand, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, Governor
of the said colony, do hereby revoke the regulation made by
Order in Council of the thirtieth day of September, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-four, published in the
New Zealand Gazette of the second day of October, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-four, which said regula-
tion is set forth in the First Schedule hereto, and in lieu
thereof do hereby make the regulations specified in the
Second and Third Schedules hereto; and do hereby declare
that this order shall take effect as from the second day of
April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-eight.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

"EXTENSION of Telegraph Office Hours: All telegraph and
telephone offices throughout the colony which do not open
in the evening for public business shall hereafter reopen for
the receipt and despatch of telegrams between the hours of
7 and 8 p.m. daily, except on Sundays and holidays, when
the hours at present applicable to those days shall continue
to be observed."

SECOND SCHEDULE.

THE following telegraph and telephone offices within the
colony shall hereafter not open in the evening for public
business between the hours of 7 and 8 p.m. daily unless
otherwise ordered:—
