Licensing Districts defined.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by "The Licensing Act, 1881," and "The Licensing Act Amendment Act, 1882," it is enacted that the Governor shall from time to time define districts to be licensing districts under the said Acts, and from time to time may alter and redefine the boundaries of the same, and may abolish any district:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the said Acts, do hereby abolish, from and after the twenty-fourth day of February instant, the Licensing Districts of Takapuna, Weiti, Ararimu, Waitakerei, Waikomiti, and Manukau; and do hereby proclaim and define the parts of the colony mentioned and described in the Schedule hereto to be, from and after the said twenty-fourth day of February instant, ordinary licensing districts for the purposes of the said Act.
SCHEDULE.
WAITEMATA COUNTY.
Takapuna Licensing District.—Comprises the Lake Road District, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No 42, 17th May, 1883.
Northcote Licensing District.—Comprises the Northcote Road District, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 13, 1st February, 1884.
Birkenhead Licensing District.—Comprises the Birkenhead Road District, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 13, 1st February, 1884.
Wainui Licensing District.—Comprising the Pukeatua, Wainui, and Whangaparaoa Road Districts, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 42, 17th May, 1883.
Waikomiti Licensing District.—All that area in the Waitemata County bounded towards the north-west by the Parish of Waitakerei; towards the east by the Whau River and the County of Eden; towards the south-east by the Manukau Harbour; and towards the south-west by the sea.
Waitakerei Licensing District.—All that area in the Waitemata County bounded towards the north by the Taupaki Block, the northern boundary of Section No. 1, Parish of Waipareira, by Brigham's Creek, and the Waitemata River; towards the east by the Waitemata Harbour; towards the south-east by Waikomiti Licensing District, hereinbefore described; and towards the west by the sea.
Helensville Licensing District.—All that area in the Waitemata County bounded towards the North by the Kaipara Harbour; towards the east generally by the Kaipara Harbour and the Kaipara River to the northern boundary of the Town District of Helensville; thence by the northern, eastern, and southern boundary-lines of that town district, again by the said Kaipara River and the Waiputukahu Stream to the south-eastern boundary-line of the Ongarahu Block; towards the south-east by the south-eastern boundary of the said Ongarahu Block and that boundary-line produced to the sea; and towards the west to the sea.
Kaukapakapa Licensing District.—All that area in the Waitemata County bounded towards the north by Rodney County; towards the east by the said Rodney County and the Wainui Licensing District, hereinbefore described; towards the south-east by the Waitakerei Licensing District, hereinbefore described; towards the west by the sea; towards the north-west by the Helensville Licensing District, hereinbefore described; and again towards the west by the said Helensville Licensing District and the Kaipara Harbour.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twentieth day of February, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-eight.

WHEREAS by the sixth section of "The Licensing Act, 1881," it is enacted that the Governor shall, as soon as conveniently may be after the commencement of the said Act, by Proclamation in the Gazette, from time to time define districts to be licensing districts under the said Act, and from time to time may alter and redefine the boundaries of the same:
