NOTICE.

THIS is to give notice, pursuant to the provisions of section 17 of “The Life Assurance Policies Act, 1873,” that I have received a letter, a true copy whereof is as follows:—

“Dunedin, 4th November, 1887.

“Public Trustee, Wellington.

“Sir,—In accordance with the Act of Parliament dealing with deposits made by life companies, I beg to give you notice that I will withdraw, six months hence, the deposit-receipt on Bank of New South Wales for a fixed deposit of £1,000, dated in August last, and voluntarily lodged with you as an additional security.

“Yours faithfully,

and, in accordance with such section, I have been and am satisfied that, after the proposed withdrawal has been made, the remainder of the securities left on deposit by the said society would be equal in value, as estimated by me, to the amount of the moneys insured or contracted to be paid by the society in or by the policies on the register kept in my office; and, unless the policies of the said society that may be registered between the issue of this notice and the intended time of such withdrawal shall exceed the value of the remainder of the said securities, I shall, on or after the eighth day of May, 1888, allow the withdrawal of the said fixed deposit of £1,000.

SUBSCRIPTIONS.—The subscription is at the rate of 30s. per annum, PAYABLE IN ADVANCE. A less period than three months cannot be subscribed for.

Single copies of the Gazette, 6d. each.

Advertisements are charged at the uniform rate of 6d. per line for each insertion.

For half-yearly statements under the Mining Act, the charge will be 23s.

All advertisements should be written on one side of the paper, and signatures, &c., should be written in a legible hand.

The number of insertions required must be written across the face of the advertisement.

The New Zealand Gazette is published on Thursday evening in each week, and notices for insertion must be received by the Government Printer before two o’clock of the day preceding publication.
