ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twentieth day of September, 1887.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken for a public work authorised to be constructed by the Government, to wit, a further portion of the North Island Main Trunk Line of Railway, from a point at or near Marton to Te Awamutu, via Murimotu, Taumaranui, and the Ongaruhe River Valley:

And whereas the said land is held or occupied by Native owners:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and the amendments thereof, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order that the Government work known as the Porewa Section of the North Island Main Trunk Railway shall and may be constructed on or through the parcel of land more particularly mentioned in the Schedule hereto.

Trustees appointed for the Maintenance of the Pahiatua Public Cemetery.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the forty-fifth section of “The Cemeteries Act, 1882,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint the local authority specified in the first column of the Schedule hereto to have the control and management of the public cemetery specified in the second column of the said Schedule.

The Pahiatua Town Board. PAHIATUA.
All that piece or parcel of land in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 6 acres 3 roods 34 perches, more or less, being Section No. 82, Block XVIII., Mangahao Survey District. Bounded on the north-east by a public road, 500 links; on the south-east by Sections Nos. 77 and 78, 1000 links; on the south-west by Section No. 79, 893 links; and on the north-west by a public road, 1074 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Wellington.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this sixteenth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven.
