SCHEDULE.

THE parcel of land mentioned in list hereunder:—

In the Provincial District of Auckland; as the said parcel of land is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 15086, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in Her Majesty’s Army, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-fourth day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven.

Proclaiming Brunner a Borough under “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886.”

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886,” the Governor is empowered, by Proclamation, to declare any portion of the Colony of New Zealand to be a borough under the said Act from and after a day to be named in such Proclamation:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the district described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby constituted, as from the first day of November, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven, a borough under the said Act; and I do further proclaim and declare that the name of such borough shall be the Borough of Brunner, and that the boundaries thereof shall be those described in the said Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the County of Grey bounded towards the East generally by Langdon’s Creek, the Grey River, and the Arnold River; towards the South by a right line bearing west 3° 30′ south, being the southern boundary of the Westport Coal Company’s leasehold produced, 29500 links; towards the West by a right line bearing north 3° 30′ west, 20000 links; towards the North by a right line bearing east 3° 30′ north, 28700 links.

Licensing Districts altered.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the sixth section of “The Licensing Act, 1881,” it is enacted that the Governor shall, as soon as conveniently may be after the commencement of the said Act, by Proclamation in the Gazette, from time to time define districts to be licensing districts under the said Act, and from time to time may alter and redefine the boundaries of the same: And whereas it is expedient to alter and redefine the boundaries of the Districts of Carterton and Carterton Town:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the said Act, alter and redefine the boundaries of the said districts, which shall henceforth be those described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

WAIRARAPA SOUTH COUNTY.

Carterton Licensing District.—All that area in the County of Wairarapa South known as the Ridings of Carterton and Gladstone, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 12, of the 1st February, 1883, exclusive of the Carterton Town Licensing District hereinafter described.

Carterton Town Licensing District.—All that area known as the Borough of Carterton, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 36, of the 16th June, 1887.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in Her Majesty’s Army, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this second day of November, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-seventh day of September, 1887.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken for a public work authorised to be constructed by the Government, to wit, the Thames-Hikutaia Section of the Waikato-Thames Railway:

And whereas the said land is held or occupied by Native owners:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him by “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and the amendments thereof, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order that the Government work known as the Thames-Hikutaia Section of the Waikato-Thames Railway shall and may be constructed on or through the parcels of land more particularly mentioned in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 3 acres 3 roods 16 perches, being portion of Native land, commencing at the southernmost corner of Tawhitirahi No. 1, 1333. Bounded North-westerly by a line, 266 links; North-easterly by a road, 1356 links; South-easterly by a line, 312 links; South-westerly by high-water mark and by lines to commencing-point, 377 and 988 links respectively.

All those pieces or parcels of land containing by admeasurement 15 acres 2 roods 11 perches, being portions of Native land east of Kopu Block, commencing at the point
