Approving and appointing a Bonding Warehouse.

CUSTOMS.—In exercise of the powers in me for this purpose vested by “The Customs Laws Consolidation Act, 1882,” I, the Commissioner of Trade and Customs, do hereby approve and appoint the under-mentioned warehouse to be a warehouse for the reception of goods under bond, namely,—

Port of Dunedin.

Portion of a brick building with iron roof, situated on Section 59, Block VII., City of Dunedin, to be known as

THE HIGH STREET BOND.

Given under my hand, at Wellington, this twenty-ninth day of September, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven.

Approving and appointing Addition to a Bonding Warehouse.

CUSTOMS.—In exercise of the powers in me for this purpose vested by “The Customs Laws Consolidation Act, 1882,” I, the Commissioner of Trade and Customs, do hereby approve and appoint the under-mentioned addition to a warehouse for the reception of goods under bond, namely,—

Port of Wellington.

In addition to the ground-floor of premises situate on Section 49, Grey Street, appointed by Commissioner’s Order No. 247, of the 6th September, 1886, the warehouse known as

LEVIN’S NO. 2 BONDED WAREHOUSE

to include the remaining two floors of the said premises.

Certain Articles exempted from Duty.

CUSTOMS.—In exercise of the power in me for this purpose vested by “The Customs Duties Consolidation Act, 1882,” I, Julius Vogel, Commissioner of Trade and Customs, do hereby order that the goods hereunder specified, being materials which are suited only for, and are to be used and applied solely in, the fabrication of goods within the colony, shall be exempt from duty on importation thereof into the colony, namely,—

Sawn oak staves in the rough, in lengths suitable only for butter-kegs.

Sawn oak heads in the rough for butter-kegs.

Notice to Mariners, No. 38 of 1887.

THE following Notice to Mariners, received from the Department of Ports and Harbours, Melbourne, is published for general information.

PORT PHILLIP BAY.—SUBMARINE CABLE, SOUTH CHANNEL.
Pilots, masters of vessels, and others are hereby informed that a submarine electric cable has been laid down between the South Channel Fort and Sorrento, and crossing the South Channel about one cable’s length to the westward of Nos. 4 and 5 buoys.

Caution: Mariners and boatmen are therefore warned not to anchor within three-quarters of a mile on either side of an imaginary line from Point King to the South Channel Fort. This notice will form the subject of a port regulation, the infringement of which will render the person in fault liable to a penalty of not less than £5 and not exceeding £100.

LEADING LIGHTS, GREYMOUTH BAR.

NOTICE is hereby given that on and after the 1st November next the following alteration will be made in the leading lights at the Grey River Bar:—

The present red lights on the two leading beacons will denote that there are over 10ft. of water on the bar; and the same lights shown with an additional green light 9ft. below the red on the outer beacon will denote that there are from 6ft. to 10ft. of water on the bar.

New South Wales.—Regulation re Admission of Imported Australian Sheep Overland.—Notice No. 238.

IMPORTED STOCK ACT OF 1871, AND THE IMPORTED STOCK ACT AMENDMENT ACT OF 1884.

THE following regulation, made by His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, under the provisions of the above-named Act, is hereby published for general information, in lieu of regulation of the 6th August, 1886, which is hereby cancelled.

How imported Australian sheep are to be admitted overland from other colonies.

Sheep imported from any clean Australian colony into any other clean colony, and intended to be introduced overland into this colony, may be admitted, if their owner produce to the Inspector for this colony at the border a certificate, under the hand of the Chief Inspector for the colony from which they are intended to be introduced, that when such sheep were introduced into that colony they were certified to be free from infection by the Chief Inspector for the colony from which they were imported, and that such sheep have been once dipped with proper preparations of tobacco and sulphur, or of sulphur and lime, in a bath given at the temperature and of the duration and in the manner prescribed by No. 8 of the regulations of the 1st July, 1886. But all such sheep, unless they shall have been imported, quarantined, and dressed as herein prescribed, shall, on crossing the border, be placed in quarantine, and kept and dipped in the same manner in every respect as prescribed with regard to Australian imported sheep landed at Sydney.
