Crown Lands to be leased on the Perpetual-leasing System, under Section 161 of “The Land Act, 1885.”—Provincial District of Canterbury.

IT is hereby notified that the under-mentioned sections are open for lease for a term of thirty years, with the right of renewal for a further term of twenty-one years, and that applications will be received for the said leases at the Land Offices, Christchurch and Timaru, on the 4th February, and by Mr. March, at the Orari Railway Station, on the 3rd February, 1887. The applications received by Mr. March will bear the same date as those received at the Land Office, Christchurch:—

Under section 161 of “The Land Act, 1885,” only one allotment can be held by any one person. Every application must be accompanied by a statutory declaration, the amount of the first six months’ rent, and a fee of £1 10s. Should there be more than one application on the same day for the same allotment, the right to occupy shall be determined by lot. Plans may be seen and further particulars obtained at the Land Offices, Christchurch and Timaru.

NOTICE is hereby given that the lease of the under-mentioned reserve, situated on the south side and at the mouth of the river Rakaia, will be offered by public auction, in accordance with section 23 of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” at the Land Office, Christchurch, on Wednesday, the 9th day of February, 1887, at 12 o’clock noon:—
