Lands permanently reserved.

WHEREAS by the two hundred and twenty-seventh section of “The Land Act, 1885,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

And whereas by the two hundred and twenty-eighth section of the said Act it is provided that land temporarily reserved under the said two hundred and twenty-seventh section may, at the expiration of one month but not later than six months after the publication in the Gazette of notice of such temporary reservation, be permanently reserved, and that notice of such permanent reservation shall be published in the Gazette:

And whereas the lands specified in the first column of the Schedule hereto were, by the several warrants the dates of which are specified in the third column of the said Schedule, and the notifications of which were published in the Gazette specified in the fourth column, temporarily reserved under the authority of the said Act for the purposes specified in the second column of the said Schedule:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the said Act, do hereby permanently reserve the lands so temporarily reserved as aforesaid, and enumerated in the first column of the Schedule hereto, for the purposes specified in the second column of the said Schedule, being the same purposes for which the said lands were so temporarily reserved as aforesaid.

Land temporarily reserved in the Land Districts of Auckland, Canterbury, and Otago.

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND.

All that parcel of land containing by admeasurement 4 acres 3 roods 13 perches, more or less, situate in Block VIII. of the Thames Survey District, Thames County, and being Section No. 2 of the aforesaid Block VIII. Bounded towards the North generally by Te Totara No. 2 Block, 230 links; towards the East by a road, 254, 365, and 730 links; towards the South by a road reserve, 590 links; and towards the West by a railway and by Te Poro-o-te Ngohi Moana Nos. 2 and 1 Blocks, 364, 494, and 491 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For a quarry reserve.

All that parcel of land containing by admeasurement 1 acre, more or less, situate in the Waitemata Survey District, Provincial District of Auckland, and being Section No. 124A of the Parish of Waipareira. Bounded towards the North-east generally by a public road, 286 and 300 links; towards the South by Section No. 124 of the Parish of Wai-pareira aforesaid, 414·2 links; and towards the West by the same section, 312·6 links, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For a site for a public hall.

CANTERBURY.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Can-terbury, containing by admeasurement 60 acres, more or less, situate in the Christchurch Survey District. Bounded towards the North-west by the River Waimakariri, also by the road-line south-east of Sections Nos. 2379 and 2453; towards the North-east and South-east by the road forming part of the western boundary of Reserve No. 1360 (in red); and towards the South by the road north of Sections Nos. 534 and 465: as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the District Survey Office, Christchurch. For river-con-servation purposes.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Can-terbury, containing by admeasurement 1 acre and 7 perches, more or less, being Section No. 2736 (in red), situate in the Township of Glenavy, Waitaki Survey District. Bounded towards the North by Section No. 62 in said township, 226 links; towards the East by Sections Nos. 73, 74, 75, 76, and 77, 408 links; towards the West by Harris Street, 370 links; and towards the South by Redcliffe Road, 306 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the District Survey Office, Christ-church. For a gravel-pit.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Can-terbury, containing by admeasurement 1 acre, more or less,
