Polling-place, Marsden Electoral District, appointed.

WHEREAS a writ has been issued for the election of
a member of the House of Representatives for the
Electoral District of Marsden, and for the purposes of the
said election the Chapel, Ruatangata, was appointed a
polling-place:
And whereas it has been made to appear that the said
chapel has been destroyed by fire, and is not now available
as a polling-place, and that the said election cannot be held
without a change of polling-place being made:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of
the powers conferred upon me by the sixth section of “The
Regulation of Elections Act, 1881,” and being satisfied that
the polling-place hereinafter mentioned is more convenient
than any other for at least twenty electors to record their
votes thereat, do hereby, for the purposes of the said elec-
tion, appoint the building known as the Post Office, Rua-
tangata, to be a polling-place, in lieu of the chapel, Rua-
tangata, so destroyed as aforesaid.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this eighth day of September, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-seven.
