Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
thereof, doth hereby revoke a certain Order in Council,
dated the tenth day of January, one thousand eight hun-
dred and eighty-two, making delegation of certain powers
in manner as therein appears; and doth, with the like
advice and consent, by this present order, delegate, but
only with respect to the pieces or parcels of land described in
the Schedule hereto, all the powers conferred by the Act
aforesaid, except the powers under or conferred by sections
five and twelve thereof, to the under-mentioned persons,
who shall be known as the Woodend Public Domain Board,
namely,--
EDWARD JAMES PATEMAN,
FREDERICK HORRELL,
ALFRED CATCHPOLE,
JAMES JUDSON, and
THOMAS AYERS
(herein referred to as "the Board"), subject to the stipula-
tions hereinafter contained, that is to say,--

The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on
the second Monday in each month, at seven o'clock p.m., at
the School-room, Woodend, or at such other time or place
as may from time to time be fixed by the Board. The first
meeting shall be held on Monday, the twelfth day of Sep-
tember, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven. -
Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman or
by any two members of the Board, provided that two days'
notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying
the business to be transacted at such special meeting, and
no other business than that so specified shall be transacted
at such meeting. -
Any three of the said Board shall form a quorum. Any
meeting may be adjourned from time to time. -
The members of the Board shall, at their first meeting,
and thereafter at an annual meeting to be held on the second
Tuesday in January in every succeeding year thereafter,
elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the
discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting
vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of
his successor. -
If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the
time appointed for holding the same, the members present
shall choose some one of their number to be Chairman of
such meeting. -
If, by resignation, death, or incapacity, or otherwise,
the office of Chairman shall be or become vacant, the mem-
bers may at any monthly or special meeting appoint a
Chairman. -
All questions shall be determined by the majority of
votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.
SCHEDULE.
Woodend Recreation-ground No. 1: All that piece or
parcel of land in the Rangiora Survey District, Provincial
District of Canterbury, containing 6 acres and 23 perches,
more or less, being part of Reserve No. 94 (in red). Bounded
Northward by a line parallel to and 1 chain distant from the
northern boundary thereof, 1066 links; Eastward by a line
at right angles thereto; Westward by the Woodend and
Rangiora Road, 800 links; and Southward by a line parallel
to the northern boundary: and numbered 2539 (in red) on
the official map in the Survey Office, Christchurch.
Woodend Recreation-ground No. 2: All that piece or
parcel of land in the same survey district, containing 138
acres, more or less. Bounded Northward by Reserve No.
807 (in red), and Sections Nos. 4280, 4538, and 4539; East-
ward by Section No. 10695; Southward by the road south
of that section; and Westward by Sections Nos. 4539 and
6555: and numbered 2134 (in red) on the official map in the
Survey Office, Christchurch.

the Ashburton County Council.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this thirtieth
day of August, 1887.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
IN exercise and pursuance of the powers vested in him by
"The Cemeteries Act 1882 Amendment Act, 1885,"
and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, His
Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
colony, doth hereby delegate to the Ashburton County
Council the powers conferred upon him by section six of
"The Cemeteries Act, 1882," as to the appointment and re-
moval of Trustees for the cemetery described in the Schedule
hereto, and known as the Mount Somers Cemetery; and doth
declare that this Order in Council shall take effect as from
the first day of October next.
SCHEDULE.
MOUNT SOMERS CEMETERY.
All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Can-
terbury, containing by admeasurement 5 acres, more or
less, being Section No. 2403 (in red), situate in the Alford
Survey District. Bounded towards the North by Reserve No.
1633 (in red), 670 links; towards the East by Reserve No. 1832
(in red), 853 links; towards the West by Section No. 27148,
639 links; and towards the South by a road-line, 703 links:
be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is
delineated on the plan deposited in the District Survey
Office, Christchurch.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this ninth day
of August, 1887.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto
is required to be taken for a public work authorised
to be constructed by the Government, to wit, the Wellington-
Napier Railway:
And whereas the said land is held or occupied by Native
owners:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
vested in him by "The Public Works, Act, 1882," and the
amendments thereof, and of all other powers in anyway
enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency Sir William
Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order that
the Government work known as the Wellington-Napier Rail-
way shall and may be constructed on or through the parcels
of land more particularly mentioned in the Schedule hereto.
