- It is important to mention that, in the returns from which this table is made up, immigrants to the colony are all counted at the first port of arrival, and emigrants at the final port of departure.
Note.—The net loss to the colony from excess of emigration over immigration for the seven months of this year has been 208.

Mining Notices.
NOTICE OF CONSTRUCTION OF WATER-RACE.
To the Mining Registrar at Roxburgh of the Dunstan Mining District, and all persons whom it may concern.
TAKE notice that it is intended to take up a Water-race and divert water for irrigation and domestic purposes, commencing at a point in Judge Creek about 150 yards above the main road, and terminating at Section 21, Block VI., Benger District.
The length of such race is one mile or thereabouts; and its course is in a southerly direction, crossing the road, and thence along the west bank of the Clutha River.
The mean depth of such race is 1ft., and the mean breadth is 1ft., and it is proposed to divert one Government-head of water.
- The race is already constructed.
Dated at Roxburgh, the 2nd day of August, 1887.
