Revoking the Setting-apart of Land in Otago for Agricul-
tural Lease.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the fifty-fifth section of "The Mining
Act, 1886," it is, amongst other things, enacted that
it shall be lawful for the Governor to cause Crown lands
situate within a goldfield to be selected and set apart for the
purpose of granting agricultural leases, or for alienation
by occupation licenses on deferred payments, under any law
for the time being in force in the land district in which
such mining district is situate:
And whereas the lands described in the Schedule hereto
were, by Proclamations dated the twelfth day of February,
one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four, and the tenth
day of January, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five,
set apart for agricultural leases:
And whereas it is deemed expedient to revoke the said
Proclamations in so far as they relate to the lands mentioned
in the Schedule hereto:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby revoke
the said Proclamations of the twelfth day of February, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-four, and the tenth day
of January, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five, in
so far as they relate to the lands mentioned in the Schedule
hereto.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the one hundred and fourth section of
"The Land Act, 1885," it is enacted that the Gover-
nor, by Proclamation in the Gazette, may from time to time
set apart out of any suburban or rural lands such blocks or
allotments of land as he shall think fit, and set the same
aside for sale on deferred payments, and in such Proclama-
tion may fix a day on which the land shall be open for appli-
cation; and that he may also in like manner set apart for
sale on deferred payments such blocks or allotments as may
be recommended by any Land Board, and may also from time
to time alter, amend, or revoke any such Proclamation:
And whereas the lands specified in the Schedule hereto
were, with other lands, by Proclamations dated the twenty-
fifth day of September, one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-nine, the twentieth day of July, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-one, and the twelfth day of February,
one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four, proclaimed as
set apart for sale on deferred payment:
And whereas it is expedient to withdraw the said land
from the deferred-payment system:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance
and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the
above-named Act, do hereby revoke the Proclamations above
referred to, so far as they relate to the sections therein men-
tioned and included in the Schedule hereto, and do proclaim
and declare that the said sections are hereby withdrawn
from the operation of the deferred-payment system.
