A PROCLAMATION.

BY virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the one hundred and thirty-fifth section of “The Land Act, 1885,” and of every other power and authority enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby declare that the section of land enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be set apart for lease, with right of renewal, under the provisions of Part IV. of “The Land Act, 1885.”

Declaring State Forests in the Land District of Auckland.

A PROCLAMATION.

BY virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by “The New Zealand State Forest Act, 1885,” and of every other power and authority enabling me in that behalf, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, do hereby set apart the forest lands described in the Schedule hereto, forming part of the Crown lands of New Zealand, as and for State forests within the provisions of the said Act.

SCHEDULE.

CLASS I.—CLIMATAL OR MOUNTAIN RESERVES.

County of Whangarei.—All that piece or parcel of land situate in the Mangakahia Survey District, Provincial District of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 2,720 acres, more or less. Bounded towards the North-east by a forest reserve, 8300 links; towards the North-west by the Aponga Stream; again towards the North-east by the road which forms the south-western boundary of Section No. 4 of Block VIII., Mangakahia Survey District, 550, 1162, 705, 1054, 706, 450, 305, and 570 links, to its junction with the road which forms the eastern boundary of the same section; thence towards the South-east by a right line to the north-western angle of the Waitomotomo No. 3 Block, 32600 links; towards the South and West by the Mangakahia River; towards the North by the Aponga Stream; and towards the West generally by the Rotokanae Block, 213, 113, 343, 283, 478, 205, 168, 256, 167, 274, 268, 322, 345, 525, 537, 513, 390, 167, 376, 239, and 774 links, to the north-eastern angle of the said block; thence by a right line to Trig. Station 609, 4457 links; thence by a right line to Trig. Station H, 14711 links; thence by a right line to the southernmost angle of the Turipukunui Block 2287 links, and by the Turipukunui Block aforesaid 1679 links to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

County of Hobson.—All that piece or parcel of land situate in the Provincial District of Auckland, being portions of Blocks XIII. and XIV., Mangakahia Survey District, and containing by admeasurement 3,710 acres, more or less. Bounded towards the North by a forest reserve, 18650 links; towards the East by said reserve, 13100 links; towards the South-east by the Maungaru Block (No. 311), 4000 links; towards the South by a line, 21400 links; towards the West generally by the Tangowahine Stream; and towards the North-west by the Te Karaka Block (No. 282), 9100 links, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

Counties of Hobson and Whangarei.—All that piece or parcel of land situate in the Mangakahia Survey District, Provincial District of Auckland, and containing by admeasurement 7,830 acres, more or less. Bounded towards the North-west generally by the Pareotane Block 2146 and 2899 links, and by Section No. 1, Block V., Mangakahia Survey District aforesaid, 1019 and 669 links, and by a public road 1344 links; towards the North-east generally by unsurveyed Native land 5002 links, by the Mangakahia River, and by the Oue No. 2 Block 18900 links; towards the North by the last-named block, 7180 links; towards the West generally by a public road 4008 links, by the Oue No. 2 Block 588 and 222 links, and by the Parakau Stream; again towards the North-east by a public road, 550, 860, and 2330 links; again towards the West generally by the Oue Block, 2264, 3402, 480, and 120 links; again towards the North generally by the Mangakahia River, by unsurveyed Native land 216, 1031, 354, and 410 links, by the Mangakahia River, by unsurveyed Native land 1122 links, again by the Mangakahia River, again by unsurveyed Native land 1030 links, and again by the Mangakahia River; towards the East generally by unsurveyed Native land, 1272 and 1908 links; again towards the North by unsurveyed Native land, 9981 links; towards the South-east generally by the Rauhuia Stream, the Otarao Stream, and a public road 4000 links; towards the West by a forest reserve, 800 links; towards the South by the said forest reserve, 6000 links; again towards the West by the said reserve, 8000 links; and again towards the South by the said reserve, 9360 links; and towards the North-west and South-west by the Te Karaka Block, 1300 and 34277 links respectively, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

County of East Taupo.—All that piece or parcel of land situate in the Tatuа Survey District, Provincial District of Auckland, formerly known as the Pokuru North Block, and containing by admeasurement 252 acres, more or less. Bounded towards the North generally by the Te Hukui South Block and by Native land, 5157 and 612 links; towards the East by Native land, 4681 links; towards the South by the Pokuru South Block, 4949 links; and towards the West by Native land, 1096, 1900, and 1881 links, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

County of Tauranga.—All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 3,050 acres, more or less, situate in Blocks XII. and XVI., Otane Wainuku Survey District, Provincial District of Auckland. Bounded towards the North by Block VIII., Otane Wainuku Survey District aforesaid, 6050 links; towards the East by Block IX., Maketu Survey District 340 links, by Section No. 10 of the same block 12655 links, by the termination of a public road 118 links, and by Section No. 13 of Block IX., Maketu Survey District aforesaid, 11570 links; towards the South generally by the Mangatoi Stream and by unsurveyed Native land, 6450 links; and towards the North-east generally by the Waoku No. 2 Block, 28730 links, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

County of Rodney.—All that piece or parcel of land situate in the Pakiri Survey District, Provincial District of Auckland, and containing by admeasurement 1,550 acres, more or less. Bounded towards the North by a line due east from Trig. Station J to the sea-coast, 11300 links; towards the North-east by the sea; towards the South-east by the Pakiri No. 1 Block, 19000 links; towards the South-west by a line, 7000 links; towards the West by the eastern boundary of Block V., Pakiri Survey District, 3000 links; again towards the North by a line, 4800 links; and again towards the West by a line, 5500 links, due north to Trig. Station J, the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

County of Rodney.—All that piece or parcel of land situate in the Pakiri Survey District, Provincial District of
