Land withdrawn from the Deferred-payment System in Southland.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the one hundred and fourth section of “The Land Act, 1885,” it is enacted that the Governor, by Proclamation in the Gazette, may from time to time set apart out of any suburban or rural lands such blocks or allotments of land as he shall think fit, and set the same aside for sale on deferred payments, and in such Proclamation may fix a day on which the land shall be open for application; and that he may also in like manner set apart for sale on deferred payments such blocks or allotments as may be recommended by any Land Board, and may also from time to time alter, amend, or revoke any such Proclamation: And whereas the land specified in the Schedule hereto was, with other lands, by Proclamation dated the nineteenth day of September, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three, proclaimed as set apart for sale on deferred payments: And whereas it is expedient to withdraw the said land from the deferred-payment system:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the above-named Act, do hereby revoke the Proclamation above referred to, so far as it relates to the section therein mentioned and included in the Schedule hereto, and do proclaim and declare that the said section is hereby withdrawn from the operation of the deferred-payment system.

Land set apart on Deferred Payments in Southland.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the one hundred and fourth section of “The Land Act, 1885,” it is enacted that the Governor, by Proclamation in the Gazette, may from time to time set apart out of any suburban or rural lands such blocks or allotments of land as he shall think fit, and set the same aside for sale on deferred payments, and in such Proclamation may fix a day on which the land shall be open for application; and that he may also in like manner set apart for sale on deferred payments such blocks or allotments as may be recommended by any Land Board, and may also from time to time alter, amend, or revoke any such Proclamation:

And whereas the Land Board of Southland has passed a resolution recommending that the land described in the Schedule hereto annexed should be set apart for sale on deferred payments:

And whereas it is expedient to give effect to the aforesaid recommendation, and to set apart the said land accordingly:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the above-named Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is set apart for sale on deferred payments; and that Wednesday, the third day of August, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven, shall be the day on which the said land shall be open for application, in allotments as surveyed and marked on the selection map in the principal land office of the district.

And, in pursuance of the one hundred and tenth section of “The Land Act, 1885,” I do hereby fix the price at which the land so described shall be sold to be the price stated in the Schedule hereto.

Licensing Districts defined.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by “The Licensing Act, 1881,” and “The Licensing Act Amendment Act, 1882,” it is enacted that the Governor shall from time to time define districts to be licensing districts under the said Acts, and from time to time may alter and redefine the boundaries of the same and may abolish any district:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the said Acts, do hereby abolish, from and after the eighteenth day of July next, the Licensing Districts of Matakohe, Paparoa, and Wairau, and do hereby alter and redefine the boundaries of the Albert and Mangapai Licensing Districts, which shall, from and after the eighteenth day of July next, be those described in the First Schedule hereto; and do hereby proclaim and define the part of the colony mentioned and described in the Second Schedule hereto to be, from and after the said eighteenth day of July next, ordinary licensing districts for the purposes of the said Act.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

RODNEY COUNTY.

Albert Licensing District.—Comprises all that area in the County of Rodney bounded towards the North-west generally by the Oruawharo and the Topuni Rivers, and by the Kaiwaka Licensing District, as described in the Second Schedule to this Proclamation; towards the North-east by the ocean; and towards the South-east and South-west generally by the Licensing Districts of Mahurangi and Tauhoa, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 11, 28th January, 1884.

WHANGAREI COUNTY.

Mangapai Licensing District.—Comprises all that area in the County of Whangarei bounded towards the North-west generally by the Licensing District of Dargaville, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 4, 21st January, 1886, and the Licensing District of Hikurangi, as described
