Vesting a Reserve in the Town of Gordon.

WHEREAS by section seventeen of “The Land Act, 1885,” it is provided that the reserves to be made for any borough or town district under such section shall be made only in cases where no such reserves for the purpose of sections three, five, and six of “The Plans of Towns Regulation Act, 1875,” exist therein, or, if existing, do not equal or exceed the amount of reserves authorized to be made under such last-mentioned Act:
And whereas the existing reserves for the Town of Gordon do not equal the amount of reserves authorized to be made under “The Plans of Towns Regulation Act, 1875,” and it appears expedient to make the reserve hereinafter mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon me by the seventeenth section of “The Land Act, 1885,” and of all other powers enabling me in this behalf, do hereby declare that the land enumerated in the first column of the Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby reserved for the purpose stated opposite to the description of such land in the second column hereto, for the benefit of the Town of Gordon, as constituted under the provisions of “The Town Districts Act, 1881,” on the twenty-fourth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-two.

WHEREAS by the two hundred and twenty-seventh section of “The Land Act, 1885,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Land Districts of Auckland, Hawke’s Bay, Wellington, and Otago, described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the purposes in the said Schedule specified.

AUCKLAND.
ALL those pieces or parcels of land in the Town of Papakura, Provincial District of Auckland, being Lots Nos. 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 21, 22, and 24 of Section No. 10, containing an aggregate area of 5 acres 3 roods 33 perches. For a cemetery.
HAWKE’S BAY.
All that piece or parcel of land in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 2 roods 33 perches, more or less, being Section No. 45, Block XI., Tautane Survey District. Bounded on the North by a public road, 427 links; on the East by the sea; on the South by the sea; and on the West by a public road, 70 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Napier. For a signal-station.
All that piece or parcel of land in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 2 acres and 26 perches, more or less, being Section No. 46, Block XI., Tautane Survey District. Bounded on the North by Block XXIV., 477·2 links; on the East by a public road, 460·8 links; on the South by Sections Nos. 28, 29, 30, and 31, 400 links; and on the West by Section No. 44, 701·1 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Napier. For a police-station and paddock.
WELLINGTON.
All that piece or parcel of land in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 36·3 perches, more or less, being Section No. 249, Township of Hunter ville. Bounded on the North by a public road, 90 links; on the East by Section No. 250, 243·4 links; on the South by Section No. 13, 91·6 links; and on the West by Section No. 237, 260·8 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Wellington. For a site for a town-hall.
All that piece or parcel of land in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 100 acres, more or less, being Section No. 201, Block XII., Mangaone Survey District. Bounded on the North by the Moroa Native Reserve and the abutment of a road, 1269 links; on the East by Section No. 204, 4039 links; on the South by Section No. 79 760 links, by the abutment of a road 88 links, and by Section No. 116 2187 links; on the West by the Ihuraua River 6050 links, by a line 279 links, and by a public road 667 links; and towards the North-west by the abutment of a public road 101½ links, and by Section No. 202 2202 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Wellington. For a recreation-ground.
All that piece or parcel of land in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 20 acres, more or less, being Section No. 202, Block XII., Mangaone Survey District. Bounded on the North by the Moroa Native Reserve, being a creek and a line, 850 and 883 links respectively; on the South-east by Section No. 201, 2202 links; on the South-west by a public road, 1182 links; and on the North-west by a public road, 1523 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Wellington. OTAGO.
All that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District of Otago, containing by admeasurement 373 acres 1 rood 8 perches, more or less, situate in the Maungatua District, and being Section No. 31 of Block VII., Maungatua District. Bounded towards the North-east by Section No. 2 of Block XVI. of the same district and a road-line, 2100 links; towards the North-east, East, and South-east by a road reserve along the Taieri River, 19700 links; towards the South-west by Section No. 33 of same block, 1000 links; towards the North-west by Sections Nos. 22, 21, and 20, a road-line, and Section No. 19, all of the same block, 11510 links; and towards the South-west by Section No. 18 of the same block, 3785 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Dunedin.
