  1. No person shall be allowed to acquire more than one section.
  2. If there should be more than one application for any allotment, the right to purchase the same shall be determined by auction amongst the applicants.
  3. The purchaser of any lands described in the Schedule, upon the full payment of the purchase-money, will be entitled to his Crown grant, to be issued in the usual way upon payment of the fees prescribed by law.

Powers delegated to the Hirstfield Domain Board under “The Public Domains Act, 1881.”

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this fourteenth day of June, 1887.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in him by “The Public Domains Act, 1881,” His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, doth hereby revoke a certain Order in Council, dated the twenty-ninth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, making delegation of certain powers in manner as therein appears; and doth, with the like advice and consent, by this present order, delegate, but only with respect to the piece or parcel of land described in the Schedule hereto, all the powers conferred by the Act aforesaid, except the powers under or conferred by sections five and twelve thereof, to the under-mentioned persons, who shall be known as the Hirstfield Public Domain Board, namely,--

ARCHIBALD MCPHERSON,
THOMAS DEVONSHIRE,
WILLIAM SIMPSON,
FRANKLAND ALLEN WESTON, and
CHARLES FORBES

(herein referred to as “the Board”), subject to the stipulations hereinafter contained, that is to say,--

  1. The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on the third Saturday in each month, at noon, at Hirstfield, or at such other time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board. The first meeting shall be held on Saturday, the sixteenth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven.

  2. Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman or by any two members of the Board, provided that two days’ notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting, and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

  3. Any three of the said Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

  4. The members of the Board shall, at their first meeting, and thereafter at an annual meeting to be held on the third Saturday in January in every succeeding year thereafter, elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of his successor.

  5. If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose some one of their number to be Chairman of such meeting.

  6. If, by resignation, death, or incapacity, or otherwise, the office of Chairman shall be or become vacant, the members may at any monthly or special meeting appoint a Chairman.

  7. All questions shall be determined by the majority of votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.

SCHEDULE.
ALL that piece or parcel of land in the Southland Land District, containing by admeasurement 15 acres 3 roods 21 perches, more or less, being Section No. 1, Block X., Township of Hirstfield. Bounded towards the North-east by Denbigh Street, 528·1 links; towards the East by Frome Street, 858·5 links; towards the South-east by Aurum Street, 1122·7 links; towards the South-west by Sections Nos. 6 and 7 of said block, 1100 links; and towards the North-west by Tramway Reserve, 1392·5 links: excepting from the above-described area a water-race intersecting same.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this fourteenth day of June, 1887.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in me by the twenty-fourth section of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, do hereby order and declare that the reserve made for public recreation in the Provincial District of Canterbury, and known as the Templeton Recreation-ground, and described in the Schedule hereto, shall be and the same is hereby brought under the operation of and declared to be subject to the provisions of “The Public Domains Act, 1881;” and such domain shall hereafter be managed, administered, and dealt with in manner directed by the said Act.

SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Canterbury, containing by admeasurement 122 acres 3 roods, more or less, being Section No. 2418 (in red), situate in the Christchurch Survey District. Bounded towards the North-east by Section No. 9248 2750 links, also by Section No. 3201; towards the North-west by a road-line, 2651 links; towards the South-east by a road-line 2457 links, also by Reserves No. 327 (in red) 851 links; and towards the South-west by Reserve No. 327 (in red) 1000 links, and also by Sections Nos. 2773 and 2819: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the District Survey Office, Christchurch.
