The length of such extension is 30 chains or thereabouts,
and its intended course is northerly for about 12 chains and
westerly for about 18 chains, as per plan attached to applica-
tion filed in Warden's Office, Ahaura.

Time for construction: Six months.

Term: Fifteen years.

The mean depth of such extension is 3ft. 6in., and the
mean breadth is 4ft. 6in.

Private Advertisements.

TE ARAI ROAD BOARD.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is the intention of the
Te Arai Road Board to make certain deviations in a
portion of the road where it passes through Te Arai Block
No. 2, in the direction of the Wairoa, and for that purpose
to take from the land described in the accompanying
Schedule.

The works to be undertaken on this land are: Formation
for a width of 12ft. and the construction of drains and
culverts for the passage of surface-water.

Any person having an objection to the taking of this land
is required to state such objection in writing, and send the
writing to Charles Evans, Te Arai, Gisborne, on or before the
12th July, 1887.

Plans and description of this land may be seen at the
house of Charles Evans, Te Arai.

KEAST AND McCARTHY (LIMITED).

NOTICE is hereby given that, at an extraordinary general
meeting of KEAST AND McCARTHY (LIMITED), duly
convened and held at the company's premises, Filleul Street,
Dunedin, on Monday, the 30th day of May, 1887, at 3 o'clock
in the afternoon, the following resolutions were duly passed
as extraordinary resolutions:—

  1. "That it has been proved to the satisfaction of the
    company that the company cannot by reason of its liabilities
    continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the
    same."

  2. "That the company be wound up voluntarily under the
    provisions in that behalf of 'The Companies Act, 1882.'"

And that, at the same meeting, Messrs. CYPRIAN STANTON,
JULIUS HYMAN, and WILLIAM GREGG were appointed Liqui-
dators of the company, and their remuneration fixed at the
sum of £315.

NOTICE.

WHEREAS I did, on the 23rd day of May, 1887, receive
a notice in writing as follows:—

"In terms of subsection 1 of section 18, 'Life Assurance
Companies Act, 1873,' notice is hereby given that, on the
3rd day of May, 1887, a resolution to the effect that the
Accident Insurance Association of New Zealand should be
wound up voluntarily, and that George Esther, of Dunedin,
Gentleman, and Edward Smith, of Christchurch, Importer,
should be appointed Liquidators, was duly confirmed; and
that, after the expiration of six months from the date of
service hereof upon the Public Trustee, the sum of £5,000,
deposited with the Public Trustee by the said association,
under and by virtue of section 18 aforesaid, will be with-
drawn, the said association having ceased from the said 3rd
day of May, 1887, to carry on business, and having assigned the
assets of the said association to the New Zealand Accident
Company, which latter company will pay all claims made on
the said association on any policies issued by the said asso-
ciation.

Now, this is to give notice to all whom it may concern that,
under and by virtue and in pursuance of the provisions of
section 18 of "The Life Assurance Companies Act, 1873," I
shall, on or after the 24th day of November, 1887, allow the
withdrawal of all deposits made with me by the Accident
Insurance Association of New Zealand under the said Act:
provided that the said company shall then or previously
satisfy me as required by subsections 2 and 3 of the said
section 18.

evidence of my qualifications with the Registrar of the
