Boundaries of District Court District of Waikato and Thames altered.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by “The District Courts Act, 1858,” it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor from time to time, as he shall think fit, by Proclamation in the New Zealand Gazette, to constitute throughout the colony, or in any part thereof, districts within which District Courts shall be respectively held, and such districts to abolish, and the boundaries thereof to define or alter :

And whereas, by a Proclamation bearing date the twentieth day of May, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four, a district was defined within which a District Court should be held under the said Act, and it was thereby declared that the said Court should be designated by the name of “The District Court of Waikato and Thames:”

And whereas it is expedient to alter the boundaries of the said district so defined as aforesaid :

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the fifteenth day of August next, the boundaries of the district within which the District Court of Waikato and Thames shall be held shall be altered, and that thenceforth the boundaries thereof shall be the boundaries hereinafter described.

DISTRICT COURT DISTRICT OF WAIKATO AND THAMES.

All that area in the Provincial District of Auckland, bounded towards the North by the County of Manukau; towards the North-east by the Counties of Thames and Ohinemuri respectively to the southern boundary-line of Piako Survey District; thence again towards the North by the said Piako Survey District and the Waihou Survey District to the Waihou or Thames River; thence again towards the North-east by the said Waihou or Thames River to a point in line with the southern boundary-line of Te Horo Block, No. 4151; thence again towards the North by a right line to the south-western corner of that block; thence by Te Horo Block aforesaid and the Piraurahi Block No. 3; towards the South-east by the Taumatawahine Blocks Nos. 4 and 3; again towards the North-east generally by the said Taumatawahine Block No. 3 and the Taumatawahine Blocks Nos. 2 and 1; towards the South-west by the last-mentioned block; towards the North-west by the Otamau-runganui Block; again towards the North by the Tapuihu-rukehu Block; again towards the North-east and North-west by Te Papa Block, and the north-western boundary-line of Raratu No. 2 Block, and that line extended across the Ohinemuri River; thence again towards the North-west generally by the said Ohinemuri River to the Waitekauri Riding of the County of Ohinemuri, as the said riding is described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 52, 10th September, 1885; thence again towards the North-east by the said Waitekauri Riding to the north-western boundary line of the County of Tauranga; thence again towards the South-east by the said County of Tauranga; again towards the North-east by the Counties of Tauranga and Rotorua respectively; again towards the South-east by the said County of Rotorua to the Uira Gorge; thence by a right line to Rangitoto Mountain; thence by the County of Taranaki to the ocean; and thence towards the West generally by the ocean.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in Her Majesty’s Army, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this first day of June, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one hundred and sixty-second section of “The Land Act, 1885,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the area of land described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby set apart and declared open for application as a village homestead special settlement for perpetual leasing, upon the terms and conditions fixed by an Order in Council issued on the first day of September, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, and made under the one hundred and sixty-third section of the said Act.

ERRATUM.—In New Zealand Gazette No. 34, of the 2nd June, 1887, page 715, notice of appointment of Licensing Committees, for “Edwin Croucher” read “Edwin Croucher Sanders.”
