Revoking Proclamation in “New Zealand Gazette” No. 5, of 20th January, 1887, setting apart certain Lands for Mining Purposes exclusively.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of every power and authority vested in me by “The Mining Act, 1886,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do proclaim and declare that the whole of a certain Proclamation made by me under the provisions of the said Act, bearing date the eleventh day of January, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the twentieth day of January in the same year, whereby areas of Crown lands situated respectively within the Karamea Mining District (West Coast) and the Westland Mining District (West Coast) were set apart for mining purposes exclusively, shall be and the same is hereby revoked.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in Her Majesty’s Army, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at Dunedin, this eleventh day of March, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven.

Proclaiming the Taking and Laying-off of Roads over Lands in the Auckland Provincial District.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and in exercise of all powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim that the roads described in the Schedule hereto have been duly taken and laid off through the lands specified under warrants of the dates given in the said Schedule.
SCHEDULE.
ALL those parcels of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 31 acres and 24 perches, 3 acres 1 rood 29 perches, 4 acres 3 roods 35 perches, and 8 acres 1 rood 14 perches, respectively, more or less, situate in the Survey Districts of Motu and Mangatu, and being portions of a road-line, 100 links wide and upwards, traversing the Poututu A Block (No. 5277) :—
Portion containing 31 acres and 24 perches, more or less: Commencing at a point on the south-eastern boundary of Section No. 14 of Block XII. of the Survey District of Motu aforesaid at a distance of 7942 links from the north-western angle of the said Section No. 14, being the middle of the road-line above referred to; and thence continuing south-easterly generally for a distance of 5880 links or thereabouts; thence generally north-easterly for a distance of 11300 links or thereabouts to the Ngamangatawa Stream; thence crossing the said stream generally south-westerly for a distance of 1810 links or thereabouts; thence generally easterly for a distance of 3700 links or thereabouts; thence generally southerly for a distance of 3450 links or thereabouts; thence generally north-easterly for a distance of 1950 links or thereabouts to a point on the north-western boundary of Section No. 1 of Block XIII. of the Survey District of Mangatu aforesaid, being a distance of 697 links from the northern angle of said Section No. 1.
Portion containing 3 acres 1 rood 29 perches, more or less: Commencing at a point on the south-western boundary of Poututu B Block (No. 5276) at a distance of 7331 links from the south-western angle of the said block, being the middle of the road-line above referred to; thence continuing generally southerly for a distance of 3430 links or thereabouts to a junction with the portion of said road-line, hereinbefore described, at the crossing of the same on the Ngamangatawa Stream above mentioned.
Portion containing 4 acres 3 roods 35 perches, more or less: Commencing at a point on the north-eastern boundary of Section No. 1 of Block XIII. of the Survey District of Mangatu before mentioned at a distance of 1213 links from the northernmost angle of the said Section No. 1; thence continuing generally south-easterly by the north-eastern boundary of the said section for a distance of 3438 links to a point on the said boundary at a distance of 4651 links from the northernmost angle of Section No. 1 aforesaid.
Portion containing by admeasurement 8 acres 1 rood 14 perches, more or less: Commencing at a point on the Waikohuiti Stream 100 links or thereabouts from the junction of the said stream with the Waikohu River; thence continuing generally south-easterly for a distance of 5900 links or thereabouts to a point on the Waikohu River 3000 links or thereabouts from the south-eastern angle of Poututu A Block before mentioned.
ERRATUM.—In New Zealand Gazette No. 32, of the 19th May, 1887, page 658, notice of appointment of School Commissioners, for “William Henry Pearson” read “Walter Henry Pearson.”
