I, the undersigned, hereby make application to register the Sir Francis Drake Gold-mining Company as a Limited Company, under the provisions of “The Mining Companies Act, 1886.”

  1. The name of the company is to be the Sir Francis Drake Gold-mining Company (Limited).

  2. The place of operations is at Merrijig’s.

  3. The registered office of the company will be situated at Reefton.

  4. The nominal capital of the company is twelve thousand pounds, in twenty-four thousand shares of ten shillings each.

  5. The number of shares subscribed for is twenty-four thousand, being the whole of the shares in the company.

  6. The number of paid-up shares is nil.

  7. The amount already paid up is nil.

  8. The name of the Manager is Ernest Octavius Nash.

In the matter of “The Companies Act, 1882,” and in the matter of the Manawatu Steam Shipping Company (Limited).

UPON reading the petition of SIBBIT JOHN PODEVIN and the affidavit of the said Sibbit John Podevin, verifying the same, and the affidavits of JOHN HERBERT HANKINS and JAMES LINTON, sworn and filed herein, and upon hearing Mr. Dean of counsel for the petitioner, the New Zealand Gazette of the fourth day of February, 1886, the Manawatu Standard of the first day of February, 1886, and the Manawatu Daily Times of the first day of February, 1886, and the Manawatu Herald of the second day of February, 1886, each containing an advertisement of a notice that the said petitioner was, on the thirtieth day of January, 1886, presented to the Supreme Court of New Zealand, and was directed to be heard on the twenty-sixth day of February, 1886: I do order that the above-named the Manawatu Steam Shipping Company (Limited) be wound up by this Court, under the provisions of “The Companies Act, 1882;” and I do further order that the petitioner and the said company be allowed their costs of and relating to the petition out of the assets of the said company, such costs to be taxed by the Registrar; and I do hereby appoint JAMES LINTON, of Palmerston North, Auctioneer, Official Liquidator of the above-named company; and I do further order that all further proceedings in the winding-up of the said company be carried on in the District Court of Wanganui, held at Palmerston North.

UPON reading the petition of DOUGLAS HASTINGS MACARTHUR and others, contributories of the said company, filed herein, and the affidavits of the petitioners, verifying the same, and upon hearing Mr. Brown of counsel for the petitioners, this Court doth order that the above-named company be wound up by the Court, under the provisions of “The Companies Act, 1882,” and the amendments thereof; and this Court doth further order that the said DOUGLAS HASTINGS MACARTHUR, of Feilding, Gentleman, and FRED. MOWLEM, of Palmerston North, Commission Agent, be appointed the Official Liquidators of the said company, and that all further proceedings in the winding-up of the said company be carried on in the District Court of Wanganui, held at Palmerston North; and this Court doth further order that the petitioners be allowed their costs of and relating to the said petition out of the assets of the said company, such costs to be taxed by the Registrar.

UPON the petition of JOHN WALDEGRAVE, of Palmerston North, a contributory of the above-named company, on the twenty-fifth day of March, 1887, preferred unto the Supreme Court of New Zealand, and upon hearing Mr. Pennefather of counsel for the petitioner, and upon reading the said petition, an affidavit of the said John Waldegrave, verifying the said petition, and an affidavit of Walter Rutherfurd, filed in the above matter, the New Zealand Government Gazette of the eighteenth day of March, 1887, the Manawatu Daily Times of the fifteenth day of March, 1887, and the Manawatu Daily Standard of the sixteenth day of March, 1887, each containing an advertisement of the said petition: It is ordered that the above-named Palmerston North Gas Company (Limited) be wound up by this Court, under the provisions of “The Companies Act, 1882,” and the amendments thereof; and it is further ordered that JAMES LINTON, of Palmerston North, Commission Agent, be appointed the Official Liquidator of the said company, and that all further proceedings in the winding-up of the said company be carried on in the District Court of Wanganui, held at Palmerston North; and it is further ordered that the petitioner be allowed his costs of and relating to the said petition out of the assets of the said company, such costs to be taxed by the Registrar.
