Defining the Middle Line of a Further Portion of the Cat-
lin's River Branch of the Waitaki-Bluff Railway.—
(Glenomaru Section).

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the Waitaki-Bluff Railway, with a branch
from the main line to Catlin's River, is one of the
railways specified in the First Schedule to "The Public
Works Act, 1879," and which Act is, in the seventh section
thereof, declared to be a special Act authorizing the con-
struction of such railway; and such railway is unfinished,
and it has been determined to construct and maintain a
further portion of the same, namely, Glenomaru Section :
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and
pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred on me
by the aforesaid section seven of "The Public Works Act,
1879," and by sections one hundred and twenty-nine and
one hundred and thirty of "The Public Works Act, 1882,"
and in exercise of every other power and authority in anywise
enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare
that the middle line of the said further portion of the said
railway shall be as defined and set forth in the Schedule
hereto.

SCHEDULE.

Commencing at a point in Section No. 2, Block V., South
Molyneux Survey District, the said point being the termina-
tion of the railway as described in a Proclamation dated the
29th May, 1879, and published in the New Zealand Gazette
No. 58, of the 30th May, 1879 ; proceeding thence in a
southerly direction for a distance of 5 miles 4 chains or there-
abouts ; and passing in, into, through, or over the following
lands : South Molyneux Survey District, Block V., Section
No. 2 ; Glenomaru Survey District—Block II., Sections Nos.
6, 50B, 5, 19, 15, 7, 1 of 8, 23, 9, 13, 22, 13, 20, and 2 of 10 ;
Block III., Sections Nos. 4, 42, 29, 11, 20, 10, 7, 39, and
railway reserve ; and terminating at a point in railway
reserve in Block III., Glenomaru Survey District, Provin-
cial District of Otago ; including all the intervening places,
roads, streams, rivers, and watercourses ; in the manner
delineated upon the plan marked P.W.D. 14702, deposited in
the office of the Registrar of the Supreme Court, at Dunedin,
in the Provincial District of Otago ; the total length being
5 miles 4 chains or thereabouts.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William
Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General
in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable
Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-

Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same ; and issued under the Seal of the
said Colony, at the Government House, at Wel-
ington, this tenth day of May, in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
seven.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty
fifth day of April, 1887.

Present:

His Excellency the GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto
is required to be taken for a public work authorized
to be constructed by the Government, to wit, the construc-
tion of works for the purposes of defence at Taiaroa Heads,
Otago : And whereas the said land is held or occupied by
Native owners :
Now, therefore, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers
vested in him by "The Public Works Act, 1882," and the
amendments thereof, and of all other powers in anywise
enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency Sir William
Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order
that the Government work known as the construction of
works for the purposes of defence at Taiaroa Heads, Otago,
shall and may be constructed on or through the parcel of
land more particularly mentioned in the Schedule hereto.
