NOTE.—Showery during first part of month; fine during middle, with light showers at intervals; towards end of month also showery; the maximum rainfall recorded on 28th, ·36in. Prevailing N.W. winds, and strong on eight days from that quarter; fog on 23rd, 24th, 25th, and 26th. Altogether fine weather, with little rain for time of year. Maximum temperature in shade, 75; minimum, 45. Mean temperature of dewpoint, 55·0. Mean humidity, 79. Earthquake on 15th, at 4 a.m., very slight, N. and S.
