THE following special order, made by the Mount Hutt Road Board is published in accordance with “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

SPECIAL ORDER.

RESOLVED, That a special order is hereby passed by the Mount Hutt Road Board, by which the whole district is brought under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,” for the purpose of raising a loan towards carrying out the Methven and Highbank Storm-water Drain.

I hereby certify that the above special order has been duly passed by the Mount Hutt Road Board, in the County of Ashburton, in conformity with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

Special Order made by Manawatu Road Board, County of Oroua.

THE following special order, made by the Manawatu Road Board, is published in accordance with “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

SPECIAL ORDER.

THAT, to provide for the payment of interest on a loan of £150 for the construction of James’s Line, a special rate of five-eighths of a penny in the pound be struck on the rateable value of parts 9 and 48 to 53 of Section 415, and parts 8 and 54 to 59 of Section 416, Palmerston North, all inclusive.

To provide for the payment of interest on a loan of £450 for the construction of a portion of Fitzherbert Road East, a special rate of one farthing in the pound be struck on the rateable value of Sections 226 to 254, 297 to 302, 360 to 367, Fitzherbert, all inclusive; and, to provide for the payment of interest on a loan of £150 for the construction of a bridge on the same road, a further special rate of three thirty-seconds of a penny in the pound be struck on the rateable value of the same sections.

To provide for the payment of interest on a loan of £500 for the construction of a road in the Upper Aorangi Block, a special rate of five-eighths of a penny in the pound be struck on the rateable value of Sections 5, 6A, and 7, Middle Aorangi, and 1 to 24 inclusive, Upper Aorangi, with the exception of Native lands within the meaning of “The Crown and Native Lands Rating Act, 1882.”

Each of the above rates to be an annually-recurring rate for a period of twenty-six years, and shall be payable at the office of the Board in two instalments, namely, on the 1st day of May and the 1st day of November in each year.

I hereby certify that the above resolution was passed by special order at a meeting of the Manawatu Road Board, held the 6th April, 1887.

Notice of Intention to incorporate St. Andrew’s Orphanage, Nelson, as a Separate Institution.

Premier’s Office,
Wellington, 19th April, 1887.

HIS Excellency the Governor in Council directs it to be notified, in terms of section 43 of “The Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1885,” that he has received a petition from not less than fifty subscribers to St. Andrew’s Orphanage, Nelson, praying that St. Andrew’s Orphanage may be incorporated as a separate institution; and that if no counter-petition, signed by an equal or greater number of subscribers, shall have been delivered at the office of the Colonial Secretary within one month after the publication of this notice, or if the District Board shall not have lodged with the Colonial Secretary within the same time an objection to such petition, the Governor in Council will declare the said orphanage to be a separate institution under the said Act.

Notice to Mariners, No. 10 of 1887.

ALTERATION TO FRENCH PASS LIGHT.

Marine Department,
Wellington, N.Z., 18th April, 1887.

WITH reference to Notice to Mariners No. 45 of 1884, notice is hereby given that, on and after the night of Monday, the 16th May next, the following alteration to the French Pass Light will be made, namely:—

In Current Basin, southward of the Pass, the light will show RED in the channel from the mainland to within 1⅓ cables of the Piége Rocks, or on a bearing of N.E. ½ N.; thence over the Piége Rocks on to D’Urville Island it will show WHITE.

In Admiralty Bay the light will be RED as heretofore.

The light on the beacon will remain WHITE.

LIGHT BEACONS, PORT PIRIE, SPENCER GULF.

NOTICE is hereby given that, on and after the 1st May, 1887, the light on the outer beacon, Port Pirie, will be red instead of white, and will be altered so that it can be seen by vessels using the South Channel.

PILE BEACON LIGHT.

ON and after the 15th instant a pale green light will be exhibited from sunset to sunrise on a pile beacon recently erected in 8ft. low water near the Northern Breakwater. This light will be seen by vessels on rounding the Southern Breakwater, and while kept in sight will clear the “Cawarra” wreck, and serve as a safe guide for entering the harbour.

Notification.

IN pursuance of the provisions of the fourth section of “The One-tree Hill Reserve Act, 1886,” I, John Ballance, Minister of Lands, do hereby notify that the land described in the Schedule hereto has been approved by the Minister of Education as an equivalent reserve for primary education for the land described in the Schedule to the Act aforesaid.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Provincial District of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 17,865 acres, more or less, known as Tokoroa No. 2 Block, situate in the Survey Districts of Ngautuku and Patetere South. Bounded towards the North by the Patetere Land Company’s land; towards the South-east by the Tikorangi Block; towards the South by the Whakamaru-Maungaiti Block and the Patetere Land Company’s land; and towards the South-west and North-west by the said company’s land: as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the Survey Office, Auckland.

As witness my hand, at Wellington, this twentieth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven.
